Cimini: “Still shopping: The Jets hit most of their obvious needs in the first wave of free agency, but they’re still looking for a wide receiver (low cost) and a veteran backup quarterback.”

  1. I think we should add one and draft one. I like Juwan Jennings. Also not a big fan of some of the big names out there like Jeudy and Diggs

  2. I wouldn’t mind the Jets skipping WR in this draft and using 2026 to develop what we already have in AD Mitchell and Arian Smith. Worst comes to worst, we can draft one in 27 but a solid WR in free agency would be very nice and would give us flexibility. I’m all for it.

  3. Mougey and Glenn’s strategy is smart here. Fill out the roster so they don’t appear desperate in the draft.

Then they can take best player available or be ready to field calls from other GMs.

  4. I want/know we need receiver help, but Jennings is the only guy i could see happening. Dortch and Lockett dont strike me as Reich types.

  5. I'm afraid Lockett would be a "progress-stopper," to use the Parcells term. I'd rather go with Wilson, a high-draft choice, maybe a second WR picked late, some UDFAs, and what we've got on the roster and the practice squad now. The Jets have to start developing their own talent instead of signing and trading for has-beens and never-wases — especially at WR, as we did last year with non-entities like Johnson and Reynolds. Jennings is the only one you mentioned that I'd make an offer to.

  6. Question. So say we sign Jennings would yall want the TE from Oregon ? We haven’t had a difference maker at TE in a long time. Would cause a lot of mismatches for the defense.

  7. Someone just announced that the Jets signed Mike Williams, who was with the chargers to a one year deal Ian. Is that true, or did you not get that info yet.

  8. I lowky dont want them to make a big move signing or draft, just get a solid older wr for this year and go get jeremiah smith in next years draft. Then you got Garret, Smith, Mitchell. That would be so good

  9. They brought in ad Mitchell and right off the bat he started dropping passes left and right including a bomb that Justin fields threw. They are better off getting a solid receiver in the draft.

  10. I agree 100%!!
If they aren’t actively & aggressively pursuing Jauan Jennings, I’m going to be very disappointed.
If you’re going to overpay (within reason), that’s fine.
I’d be happy to pay the “Jets tax” to get him in the building.
He’s just the type of versatile contested catch & red zone target who’s physical (I love his run blocking) we need to pair up with GW.
