The Washington Nationals Could SURPASS Expectations Because Of This Route
Washington Nationals’ young core is turning heads—could a brighter future arrive sooner than expected? Ryan Clary examines why the Nationals might outperform bleak projections, spotlighting breakout spring performances from prospects Brady House, Daylen Lile, and 2021 MLB Draft standouts. With Dylan Crews, James Wood, and newcomer Harry Ford poised to impact the offense, and emerging arms like Foster Griffin battling for rotation spots, Washington’s rebuild may not be as dire as predicted. Clary breaks down what’s clicking offensively, the revitalized energy under new front office leadership, and why the 2021 draft class might be a game-changer. He discusses Jacob Young’s Gold Glove-caliber defense, Seaver King’s under-the-radar progression, and debates whether the Nationals’ win outlook deserves more optimism. Are the Nationals closer to contention than the pundits think? Find out as Locked On Nationals dives into the promise—and questions—surrounding Washington’s youth movement.

Amen
Where does this James wood is a good right fielder narrative come from? There’s literally nothing to support that being true. He got worse at defense as the year went on last year…
I see no possible way this team gets to 70 wins, I'd be surprised if they win more than 60 with the absolute worst pitching staff in the majors. Lile and House appear to be ready for possible breakout seasons, but Crews seems to be another overhyped bust so the offense could be slightly better but not enough to cover for their horrible pitching staff.
hi ryan clary
Ford sure doesn't look any better then Ruiz. The opponents are gonna steal 2nd every play.
The spring training batting averages look awful. Almost everyone under 200, some worse. The pitching is what won them games so far. If anything the pitching could be surpisingly better than people thought. Other than Brady House, the hitting looks terrible. Even if it is only spring training.
