21. 8:49 Stop it, Mike 😂 I 100% agree that the whole ‘McDermott only wants Boy Scouts’ narrative is highly misleading, but you know damn well he wouldn’t bring in a player like that, and it has nothing to do with his talent level 😆 We’ve been really short at the position numerous times over the past few years and Beane never brought him in until now. McD doesn’t care about what players say to each other, but he’d NEVER tolerate a player that openly disrespects him!! He’ll bench players just for being late to meetings & practice, or for fumbling the ball, or for any other actions or mistakes he deems worthy of punishment, so there’s NO way he’s tolerating a player who’s known to tell his coaches and reporters that he’s being misused and how another team he was one utilized him so much better, etc. Diggs might be a “diva”, but he’s smart enough not to mouth off directly to McD or air their business on social media… because McD doesn’t like his authority being challenged, and he REALLY doesn’t like his dirty laundry being aired! It doesn’t matter if it’s a player, coach, reporter, insider, etc., his #1 rule is that nobody’s allowed to share any team information publicly. He’s even banned individual reporters & journalists for not following his rules good enough. So it’s a bit disingenuous to pretend there’s no truth to him avoiding problematic players, it just depends on what kind of “problems” they cause. Other than that, great show as always!!
