Caitlin Clark and Team USA capped a perfect 5-0 march through the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with an 84-70 win over Spain.

Team USA built its largest lead of the day at 19 points and cruised from the midway point of the second quarter on. Clark finished with seven points on 2-of-7 shooting, including 1-for-5 from 3-point range.

The 6-foot Iowa alumna and Indiana Fever star closes the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament shooting 53% from the field (18-of-34) and 37% from 3-point distance (10-of-27).

Clark ended by averaging 11.6 points, 6.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game. Clark added four steals and a pair of blocks throughout Team USA’s 5-0 run in group play.

Team USA had already qualified for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup by virtue of its 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup triumph over Brazil.

Still, these five games were valuable for Clark and players like Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese, who were all making their senior national team debuts.

Team USA will head to Berlin, Germany, for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup from Sept. 4-13.
