  1. Ya know, I was going to say line mates was the obvious difference(and of course its still a major factor)

But literally every season Hyman was a Leaf besides his first(rookie Nylander) he was stapled to the big guys.

Dude just hit an inexplicable growth spurt that the org was too dumb to anticipate and pay for.

  2. Can we stop acting like this guy is some elite talent lol. He’s a good role player but significantly benefits from playing with McDavid and on the Oilers PP

  3. Very thankful we didnt commit to his outrageous contract and instead stuck to our guns in keeping kerfoot, holl, engvall, mikheyev, signed nick ritchie, simmonds, thornton,…

  4. I liked Hyman with the Leafs. I also agreed when we didn’t sign him because the term he got with the Oilers I felt was too long. That thought was based on me being too old and wary of those nasty knee injuries. Turns out I was wrong. Still don’t think of him as an elite talent, but think he is one of those blue collar players that is necessary on every team. I think we miss him, and wish him the best.

  5. Every player that leaves the pressure cooker goes on to success? Toronto needs a culture change. Anyone who fails to live up to their expectations should be sent down and not traded. If we are going to lose so will the lousy player.

  6. Good for him! And what a generational fumble by the FO. Think of how many assets it takes to get a player like Hyman at that contract.
