It’s unfortunate that the fans care so much. They put too much pressure on the players.

Then why do they want to come here to play?
Pressure is part of the sport
These are multi-million dollar paid athletes
If they can’t take pressure, why tf are they making the big bucks?
Ffs, you’d expect some psychological resilience at this level of the game.
Maybe if no one showed up to watch the games, they’d play better.
Boo hoo…they make most people’s yearly salary every couple days….that’s not pressure…it’s a luxury …and I love the leafs
It’s a bullshit narrative pushed by leafs haters to piss off the leafs fans. The Leafs can’t be the only team in the world that has this narrative that the fans and media are too harsh on players.
Only sport that’s worth a billion fucking dollars that this is seen as a bad thing ridiculous conversion we are having here
True pressure comes more from an insane Toronto media. That’s why we need a captain who can field questions and call out the stupid questions with authority. Someone with a boat load of confidence. A true motivator. Matthews ain’t it. I want him on the team obviously (does he want that though?), but I don’t want him as captain. I think a witty captain with a fuck you attitude towards media could shift the dynamics in the dressing room and on the ice.

I’m helping the players out by not watching any more games this season, and not buying any merch.
Maybe they should have a second team in Toronto to take some pressure off then. It’s not like attendance should be a problem.
Fans are *not* the problem. Damn I get tired of hearing that they are. They’re consumers who expect value for their entertainment dollar.
The media, on the other hand …
Ya lol, that’s the problem.
Sure it sucks going through the heart break, time and time again.
Whether it’s the over critiquing of management, players, culture, fans, it doesn’t matter.
We don’t jump on bandwagons. We always support our team deep down.
We’re Leafs fans. And that’s final!
Heard from a lot of people who were down there today, who said they had an awesome time and the organization did a great job.
Glad the youngins on their March break enjoyed themselves.
Please tell me the second sentence is sarcasm….
I think it’s a little disingenuous to say “the fans care too much” when talking about pressure.
It’s not about them caring, it’s about them having a meltdown over every small thing that doesn’t land their way.
Just playing devils advocate.
I know MOST fans aren’t this way, but the loud vocal minority can be sometimes. So it’s not a clear black and white issue imo
You think Nylander feels pressure?
More noise and atmosphere than a home game there

Only if the playoff tickets were cheap
First ever? Haven’t they always done this? I remember going to one as a kid and they had a skills competition within the team and Pavel Kubina had the hardest shot at like 103 mph
Once you resign yourself to taking it up the ass every season for the rest of your life, it’s actually pretty fun.
There is actually zero pressure to win in Toronto. People are used to losing, so giving a solid effort is a win.
dumb for the most part that the media’s stupid takes and opinions are taking as leafs fans views.
PRESSURE??? , They get paid Miliions of dollars for playing a sport they love. We technically pay their salaries with ticket and mech sales. So… Yeah !!! Pressure is on boys to bring that freakin CUP home !!
Pay me millions of dollars to play a game as a living and I’ll handle the pressure.
Such a dumb narrative oh no our fans like us so much we can’t perform our job for millions. Fuck off.
No English Premier League team has ever put up with so much pressure ever from fans lol
What an absurd reality! I hate it. Why
are there never a concentration of Leaf players who can handle expectations and adulation. It’s been going on for over fifty years. I’m sick of it.
What?… you don’t rise to the top level in anything if you cannot handle pressure. Perspective is everything… this isn’t pressure, it’s motivation.
That’s a sarcastic title right?
Don’t let Reddit fool you into thinking leafs fans are the problems. They are not
This video just terrified so many NHL “tough” players.
Canadian hockey teams need to lean into their legacy more and it’s something that GM’s need to screen for when they sign players. Not to create unnecessary pressure, but to ensure that players understand the important of the role they are assuming.
I’m sick of the narrative that Minnesota (or some other bullshit State) is a more attractive place to play than Toronto or Montreal.
Who the fuck wants to live in Minnesota?
Group delusion is a real thing
Pressure (while making millions playing a game) is a privilege.
Leafs fans existing.
Marchand “It’s a shame Leafs fans drove Marner out of town.”
Hockey Reddit:

If only those were the fans you see at the game on TV. I know it can get rocking in there but a lot of the time it just looks like a snooze fest. And the broadcast really should stop stifling the crowd noise.
Just because there’s a bunch of suits in there doesn’t mean it can’t sound loud as fuck for us poor folk watching on the 80’s style boob tube.
Why are we always talking about these guys like they’re the only team in the league that feels pressure. Just go play and be a professional. If you want to mope and be a second tier player then ask for a trade. It doesn’t and hard to understand
Wish the players on the team cared this much…

I’m in Ottawa for work and last night chatted with couple Americans at the bar who are following the Islanders on their Leafs-Sens-Habs trip. They were at the Leaf game on Tuesday and commented that they were dissapointed in the atmosphere at the Scotiabank. I guess they were expecting it to be this mecca of hockey and fandom but instead it was all quiet.
But they did talk about about Habs fans coming to Long Island in thousands often and their chants of ole ole. They sounded impressed and were looking forward to the Sat night game in Montreal.
I just smiled and nodded as this pretty much sums up any Leaf game experience I ever had at the arena. Shit is weak.
It’s no wonder they lost today with how much support the fans showed tonight.
Look at all those empty seats 🤣
There’s only one way for the Scotiabank Arena audience to eat up the trash this team puts on the ice, and that’s to get rid of all the suits and replace the entire crowd with raccoons.
So funny to hear this. When we were all watching the Jays there was literally 0 pressure on the leafs and they still sucked.
