For this week’s installment of #TigersFanFridays, meet Sally Hamilton and her granddaughter, Shannon Brown, from Lincoln Park, MI.
Sally “doesn’t go anywhere if the Tigers are playing,” and still makes a point to visit games despite having both hips replaced. Nothing stops Sally from watching the #Tigers play, Shannon says, and it has been that way for as long as Shannon can remember.
Sally used to babysit Shannon when she was younger, and then, the two watched Tigers games together. They still make a point to watch games when they can. They’ve cheered on former Tigers outfielder Bobby Higginson, and have sat at games with a hot chocolate when it was cold.
“She wouldn’t miss a game for the world!” Shannon says. “She definitely made me a huge Tigers fan! We watch games together all the time if we can’t watch we listen on the radio!”
Every year, for the past 12 years, Shannon has made Sally a birthday cake with a Tigers theme. And on Monday, Sally will celebrate her birthday with another Tigers themed cake. Happy birthday, Sally!
