2026 OUTLOOK: The Washington Nationals Won’t Be Great BUT They Will Serve A Purpose
Washington Nationals launch a season of uncertainty as top prospects face surprising setbacks. Will Dylan Crews and Harry Ford fulfill their promise, or are expectations set too high for this rebuilding squad? Ryan Clary and Bobby Blanco spotlight the Nationals’ unconventional decisions, including sending down Harry Ford and Robert Hassell III, and question the team’s inactive free agency period. Key discussions include Josiah Gray’s assignment to Triple-A, the evolving first base situation with Luis García Jr. and Andres Chaparro, and why this new front office—led by Paul Toboni—could change player development but require patience. Insightful analysis weighs Dylan Crews’ struggles against the tough opening MLB schedule and past star trajectories, while debating which rebuilding teams stack up against Washington. As Nationals fans look for signs of progress, could a brutal early season gauntlet actually forge the club’s next core?

It seems all people do is make excuses for Dylan Crews. sSo far in his career he is one of the highest drafted automatic outs in history.
I wouldnt mind giving Brad Lord a shot at closer at some point. He may not have the insane stuff you'd like for a closer, but I think there is value to sending in a guy you know will throw strikes.
Not sure why anyone young would commit to being involved with this team as the conclusion is always it’s waste of life and nothing including going to the park will be enjoyable
You are right this team is garbage why bother watching them at all wowwww nothing like having a support like this if you ran a suicide hotline you would be giving out instructions on sleeping pills
He's just been demoted to AAA.
Good luck to Crews on his demotion to AAA. Lets hope he gets back and plays like a champ.
