Morgan Gibbs-White’s reaction
double quotation markIt’s absolutely a huge result. There was a lot of worry going into this game and about the outcome. But the boys were incredible.
Igor Tudor, the Spurs interim head coach, did not attend the post-match press conference. Sky Sports are reporting that he was informed of a family bereavement straight after the game, with his assistant Bruno Saltor speaking to the media in his absence.

Match report: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest
It promises to be a long three weeks for Tottenham Hotspur and Igor Tudor. That is if Tudor gets the time, after Nottingham Forest plunged Spurs deeper into the relegation fight, recording a humiliating 3-0 victory at this vast arena.
When Spurs, now a point above the relegation zone, do re-emerge after the international break, their trip to Sunderland will be the first of seven games to save their Premier League status. Perhaps appropriately, here Tudor was dressed all in black and there was a funereal feeling to things when the final whistle blew and the jeers rang out from the stands.
Don’t forget you can follow the Carabao Cup final with Daniel Harris.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s goal was his ninth in the Premier League this season. Only nine men have scored more.
The updated Premier League table
Forest have done the double over Spurs for the second season in a row, this time by beating them 3-0 home and away. I’d need to check but I think an aggregate score of 6-0 is their most emphatic league double over Spurs.
ShareFull time: Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 Nottingham Forest
Any lingering doubt that Spurs could be relegated has gone: they were well beaten by an excellent Forest side, who held firm in the first half and had fun in the second. That’s quite a way for Vitor Pereira to get his first league win as Forest manager.

Full time: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham Villa are back in the top four thanks to goals from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins. West Ham stay third from bottom, one point behind Tottenham. On recent form, Spurs are hot favourites to go down.
90+1 min: Forest substitutions James McAtee and Nicolas Dominguez replace Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson.
90 min Five minutes of added time. It’s easy to forget, after such a miserable result, that Spurs were the better team for most of the first half. But Forest held firm – Milenkovic and Murillo are so good – and took the lead just before half-time. The timing of Igor Jesus’s opening goal was brutal. Since then, Forest have been far too good for an ailing Spurs.

89 min Sels makes another good save from the resulting corner, diving to his right to push away a header from Solanke. Kolo Muani has a chance from the rebound but slices it well wide. Cagged it.

88 min The match is over but Matz Sels wants to keep his sheet clean. He dives low to his left to push a 20-yard shot from Solanke round the post. Excellent save.
The substitute Taiwo Awoniyi has completed an outstanding victory for Nottingham Forest. Neco Williams curled a gorgeous ball to the far post, where Awoniyi got in front of Danso and volleyed expertly past Vicario on the run.

86 min Nothing much is happening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs’ spirit has been crushed, at least for today.
Instead, here’s an unlikely bit of ultra-processed beef.
85 min A long-range shot from Williams is no trouble for Vicario.
84 min: Spurs substitution Conor Gallagher comes on for Archie Gray in midfield.
82 min Udogie is booked for a late tackle on Ndoye. Spurs look a beaten team.
80 min: Forest substitution Dan Ndoye on, Omari Hutchinson off.
77 min Gray wins a corner for Spurs, who might just be stirring. It’s headed away as far as Sarr, whose volley from 20 yards takes a huge deflection off Sangare, wrongfoots Sels and rolls a few yards wide.
75 min Udogie drives a fast low cross that is screwed wide from 12 yards by Bergvall, arriving late in the box. An awkward chance, but a chance nonetheless.
In other news, Barcelona are three points closer to their 29th league title.
74 min Spurs need something to get the crowd going. A goal would be nice but even a near miss or a controversy would help. Right now Forest are cruising.
72 min A cross from Simons drifts harmlessly behind for a goalkick. Forest have controlled the second half; Spurs have been really flat since the break.
71 min Since you asked, these are Spurs’ remaining fixtures.
Sunderland (A)
Brighton (H)
Wolves (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Leeds (H)
Chelsea (A)
Everton (H)
It really, really, really could happen.
70 min: Double substitution for Forest Ryan Yates and Taiwo Awoniyi come on for Igor Jesus and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
67 min: Double substitution for Spurs Ah here he is. Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani replace Richarlison and the limping Mathys Tel.
GOAL! Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham (Watkins 68) Ollie Watkins has doubled Aston Villa’s lead, so it looks like Spurs will finish the day outside the relegation zone. We shouoldn’t just talk about them – this would be an outstanding result for Forest, especially on the back of their late night in Belgium on Thursday.
65 min Milenkovic does really well to get in front of Sarr and head Porro’s cross behind for a corner. He and Murillo have been in 2024-25 form today.
64 min Still no sign of Xavi Simons.
63 min The only good news for Spurs is that it’s still Aston Villa 1-0 West Ham at Villa Park. This is the Premier League table as things stand.

Spurs are in desperate bother. Callum Hudson-Odoi did superbly to make the goal. He slowed down to draw Porro towards him, then left him for dead and surged into the area. A precise cutback found Gibbs-White, inexplicably unmarked 10 yards out, and his first-time shot went through the diving Vicario into the net.

61 min The half-time changes haven’t really helped Spurs, though the timing of Forest’s goal is probably the biggest factor in their modest second-half performance so far.

59 min A reminder that Spurs haven’t won a Premier League game in 2026. Their record before today was P12 W0 D5 L7 F13 A24 Pts 5.
58 min At the other end, a dangerous inswinging cross from Williams just evades everyone in the middle.
56 min Tel exchanges passes with Udogie and finds Gray in a little bit of space in the D. His first shot is blocked and his second goes skyward.
54 min An optimistic header from Romero, almost 18 yards from goal, drifts well wide.
53 min Sangare is booked for pulling back Romero.
