Traff the giraffe guy was a mutant in the Swedish 2nd league
20 years old, 6’3 200 lbs right shot winger. Per his Elite Prospects page he is a very good forechecker and physical forward. Definitely a bottom six candidate for next year and seems like such a Verbeek guy.

Gulls just posted he’ll be on an ATO for the rest of the season, too.
Ducks posted it on Twitter. Gulls also posted that he will be on their roster for the remainder of the season as part of an ATO.
I’m excited to see what he’ll do in the AHL and if he’s going to start with the Gulls next year or if they send him on a loan to a SHL team so he can play in the highest division and learn there

Regardless if he or Nilson (other piece of the trade) pan out that was a ridiculously good trade
I like traff a lot, I think there are some questions about his ceiling at the nhl level, but he has the size and physicality that can translate to the na rink size. At the very least should be a really impactful addition to the gulls and could maybe push for the bottom six role on the ducks in a year or two.
Also curious if petterson is soon to follow him over as well this year? I thought he had a great wjc and has had a decent season in the SHL. He’s a bit smaller but more cerebral and with a higher available ceiling it sounds like. Would be nice for both of them to bolster San Diego’s roster.
Edit: looks like petterson is in SHL playoffs starting Tuesday, so maybe after that ends.

Puckempire is pretty reliable going forward. I hate that they advertise gambling companies, but they’re a good source!
