Let's Go Tigers!
Must have 300 win 🏆
The Detroit Tigers finished second in their division last season with an 87-75 record and lost in the full 5 games to the Mariners in a thrilling ALDS. The more shocking storyline though was at the end of the season when they lost 13 of their final 16 games, including an 8 game losing streak, 5 of which were against the very team that ended up chasing them down for the division crown. That shouldn't happen again, as I have them finishing first in the AL Central and possibly being a World Series threat. However, that doesn't mean they won't have to worry about Cleveland again. Detroit's biggest weakness these last few years has been hitting depth, and as we saw in the ALDS and the playoffs in general last year, there was virtually no consistency from anyone not named Kerry Carpenter who led the team with 10 RBI's. And unfortunately, the front office didn't do anything to replenish that side of the ball. Had they signed a guy like Pete Alonso or Bo Bichette or even someone else who didn't require a fortune, I'd have them right up there with the M's and Jays for pennant contention, if not above them. But of course this is still a solid lineup to say the least. Alongside Carpenter are Riley Greene, Javier Baez who's coming off a huge year, Spencer Torkelson, Zach McKinstry, Parker Meadows, Colt Keith, and Gleyber Torres. Now the pitching will be where this team is strongest, as per usual. You've got the best pitcher in the AL if not the whole league in Tarik Skubal, who will now have more support behind him than he did last year. New additions Framber Valdez and Justin Verlander could've taken y'all to the World Series last year since the team wouldn't have been so reliant on Skubal to win every start. Sure, Verlander isn't the ace of the early to mid 2010's anymore, but he proved with the Giants last year that he can still be more than serviceable, especially for a contender. Besides those three, you've also got Casey Mize and Jack Flaherty, not to mention a very reliable bullpen. Although the AL has become tougher, this is a team that's still firmly in the mix, and one I'd love to see win the World Series, something they haven't done in over 40 years. Feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes or forgot a big detail. Best of luck in 2026 to the Detroit Tigers!🐅Rangersforever❤
