The Ravens Have a BIG Decision to Make at WR…

In today’s episode of The Flock Rundown, we dive into the Ravens’ WR situation and why a big decision is coming soon.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba just reset the wide receiver market — so what does that mean for Zay Flowers and a potential extension in Baltimore? We break down why picking up Zay’s 5th-year option feels like the obvious move… but the long-term decision isn’t as simple.

We also hear from DeAndre Hopkins on his value and the Ravens’ need for another receiver — and why LaJohntay Wester might be the most overlooked name in the room right now.

Plus, the Ravens receive an insurance recovery tied to Nnamdi Madubuike, and Travis Kelce’s new deal puts Mark Andrews’ contract into a whole new perspective.

  1. Just accept his 5th year and pay him market value which is 31 per year. JSN will average 32 million per year for the next 6 years. Zay is the only consistent receiver we have had in three years. We will be in a better passing system with Doyle who played 50% of the time in 11 personnel. Time to start investing in the offense.

  2. Flowers is not a top tier receiver! Not saying his potential isn’t tier 1 but from what he’s done to this point he isn’t a 30m a year guy. His fumbles at crucial times are hard for me to forget as well.

  3. Ryan you're my guy. Tell me you're not comparing Kelce and Andrews? Stats plus accomplishments aren't even in the same ballpark. Kelce might be shot, but at least he's EARNED his money. Andrews????

  4. I hope we sign Zay. We always say we want a WR 1 and here is one we drafted! Hopefully the cap keeps increasing a lot each year so we can extend Lamar and Zay. Hope we can build a solid OL for the next 4-5 years too to protect Lamar for the next extension. I wouldn't be mad if we drafted Vega and then a center with our 3rd pick.

  5. I was just running through a couple mock drafts and had one where Sonny Styles dropped to 12. Do you think we trade up to secure a Roquan replacement? I managed to trade back in at 22 an get Ioane as well (45 & 2027 1st).

If we are in win now mode I think spending future picks to push for a Super Bowl is worthwhile. Thoughts?

  6. I’m just afraid EDC is going to draft a WR in the first round instead of properly addressing the Trenches man. I see the Market before I comment and he’s just passed on too many opportunities for me to trust his judgement. I like ManDrews too, but Likely is better at this point of their careers and he took the declining talent over the upside talent. Can’t be trusted. I mean it’s been 8 seasons and he still hasn’t protected his QB! Peace ✌🏾 💯

  7. I keep saying that about Lajohntay… everyone who thinks we should draft Lemon is insulting Wester. We don’t need a receiver in the first.

  8. Zay is not an elite separator 😂😂 bro he’s to slow to be an elite separator

The plays where he has separation are playaction and scramble drills with Lamar both scenarios the DBs are focused on Henry and Lamar.

He doesn’t do anything in pure passing downs where the threat of the run isn’t there

  9. You know EDC gonna say “ you want to get paid this year, we want to wait, can we meet in the middle on a number and get it done this off season, both happy?”

  10. I like riding with wester and Zay and bring back Dhop see if we can hit a potential big wr in the draft unless some big wr becomes available that is too good to pass up. We know we still going to be fairly run heavy so imo let's fill the box and finish squaring the def away. Flock4Life!!

  11. As much as I would love for us to extend Zay I doubt we will. History says so. The only way is if he takes a big leap and becomes that “X” factor wide receiver

  12. Since Kelce just got his contract, I think Ravens should try and sign Njoku to a 3 year deal that is equivalent to Andrew's or less guaranteed, while being equivalent to Andrew's altogether by incentives. Then just let them both eat and train up the "up and coming" TE from draft. #RAVENSNATION 🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜💪🏾💪🏼💪🏾💪🏼💪🏾💪🏼💪🏾💪🏼

  13. Nobody fears Zay chil 🤣🤣🤣 if it's up to me I find a team that will give us a first and third per se. If Hollywood got a first they definitely can get it first and third for this year. Draft a guy in the top 100 players at wide receiver in wester can do many of the things that Zay can do, especially under this Declan Doyle system I think

  14. Ravens need a #1 receiver Zay is not it. He is small, doesn't run north and south, and he fumbles a lot. Very talented but not a 1. They need to work on OL

  15. Honestly i hope we pick up the option, and draft a WR. If anything bring Hopkkins back if he will. I think we should focus on other positions of need like maybe o-line or corner

  16. It's not hard Trade Zay and Hamilton and Bateman and Stanley to get better draft capital to get WR'S Lemon from USC Tyson from AZ State and maybe Cooper from IU

  17. 27 MILLION for 5 touches a game is absolute nonsense. Yall need to get tf over thinking wr impact wins & loses. We need to protect Lamar at ALL costs. A protected Lamar can work with average receivers. But it doesn’t matter who Lamar is throwing to if he doesn’t have time to throw!
