I think it’s beautiful top to bottom. Not the greatest (No Diaz and Alonso is tough) but I’m really excited to see how it comes together. Or maybe it’s another disaster and we’re cursed but I’m feeling good. Bring on the season!!

Not pleased with an obvious hole in the roster with Jared Young, but this is exciting regardless
EDIT: I’ll take the downvotes, no problem. I think this is a great roster AND I also don’t want to watch Jared Young this year. Sue me! I’m not willing to be patient for a 30 year old who hasn’t shown us a whole lot. Reference his barrel% or whatever you want. Watching Jared Young makes me feel Jarringly Old and yelling at clouds. Since this appears to be our DH platoon, who has more home runs by end of May, Jared Young or Mark Vientos?
Stearns signed Lovelady almost immediately into the offseason to keep Minter’s spot warm for a month. DFA’ed him figuring he’d clear waivers, and then immediately claimed him when he got DFA’ed again.
Small sample size or not, Hudson looked downright awful in camp. I didn’t view it as Lovelady vs Hudson, I viewed it as Lovelady vs a waiver claim, which I guess could technically still happen in a couple of days as today is the day players are hitting the wire.
Glad Young made it. He should be the primary fill in against RHP when guys need days off
Lovelady is fine. I can’t crash out over a guy who will pitch 5-10 innings of low leverage relief and then get cut
As Jared Young’s biggest fan, hell yeah.
The bullpen still scares me. The rest is nice tho
I wanted MJ Melendez over Young, but Young played well when he got his chances in the big leagues last year, definitely deserves a chance to play

I’m just going to take a moment to mourn the loss of Michael Tauchman’s season to injury.
He was going to be 2026’s Winker/Iglesias.
Every time our 5 or 6 hitter strands runners on base, I’m going to mutter to myself “Tauchman would have cleaned the bases” and stare off into the distance.
EDIT: the injury does not appear to be season-ending, but there is no timetable for his potential return.
How are we feeling about the bullpen? That’s the one area I’m kinda lukewarm about.

What is going on with Mauricio? He flashes brilliance but I feel like he doesn’t get consistent opportunities to find his game. I’m hoping that’s the idea behind starting him out in the minors, letting him play everyday. He seems like he has the talent to be a very good player.
