Some may not like the pick but Tate seems like one of their “guys” in my opinion

  1. The list of highly successful OSU receivers in the NFL is very very long. Might be as safe a pick as there is in the draft.

  2. I mean, I see more of a good wide receiver 2 but he reminds me a lot of a Pickens type of receiver and I guess the highest end I could see him maybe a Puka type of receiver.

  3. They’re all one of their guys, this is what you do when you’re a competent front office

  4. I think our board is

    1. Love
    2. Tate

and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was reversed.

  5. Definitely one of their guys for sure, but that doesnt mean they will draft him though. All depends how the board falls. They will have multiple very good options when theyre on the clock

  6. I mean this was the whole point of being at the pro day. They’ve already seen the tape. They just want to talk to them more.

  7. Honestly with our first round track record, all I care about is that they actually draft a guy that will still be a starter in a few years. I don’t care what position

  8. If anyone is against Tate or Lemon, they don’t know ball! Tate playing outside with potential Aiyuk signing means Terry plays inside, with Aiyuk at times too. Lemon means he’s the slot with Terry and Aiyuk outside. Both are a win/win.

  9. Tate is a great player. I hate the constant chatter of people saying he doesn’t have wr1 potential just bc he played next to the best receiver in college. Every single other receiver in cfb would have been wr2 on that team

Idk if he’d be my first choice of all the guys in that range but it wouldn’t be a bad pick

  10. I’m not gonna be upset at the Tate pick if it happens. I do wonder a little how much it helped having Jeremiah Smith across him though, who is supposed to be generational.

  11. I think the Browns are going to pick him and waste his talent behind bad QB and OL play.

  12. It’s something to keep an eye on and we definitely shouldn’t ignore it.

  13. Tate/Delane my top guys for a reason. I’m confident in both their abilities to make an instant impact while carrying a higher floor than other prospects. WR15 and CB15 are a hell of a lot more valuable in regard to what they get paid in second contracts than a ILB/S/RB who rank top 5 at their respective positions.

  14. I totally get the need to pick a WR, they are way more expensive in FA than the other positions discussed so the best way to acquire one is through the draft. But Tate at 7 represents bad value IMO. I’d prefer a small trade back if they are going WR. If Tate is gone there are other highly rated options. We can’t say that about the other positions.

  15. They said the same thing about Maye after DQ was spotted talking to him with a big grin, Tate could be the pick, but so could anyone else outside of Mendoza

  16. Remember when everyone thought they loved Maye most because of some facial expressions and their conversations at his pro day? I think they just like talking ball with guys that are good at playing ball. Maybe it is Tate, but this is ridiculous.

  17. They will take best player available. And if Tate is at 7 he fits that bill. Unless Reese or Bailey fall. Although I think Downs is the closest to a sure thing in this draft.

  18. I really think Tate is underrated. I don’t know if he’s the pick but I’d be totally fine with it. He just looks the part to me. Smooth. Steady. Professional. Would make a massive difference right away for this offense.

  19. Seems like AP does a thorough job of spending time with all the potential prospects. That way, nobody outside knows who he really likes.
