1. My 2 cents. What top player would have wanted to come play for the wings? Probably no one. They should get rid of Stevy Y. He's done nothing for the team since he started.

3. Id say that the red wings are NOT facing a late season collapse. In fact, the Eastern Conference is so tight that any game any team loses is going to be big L. The "collapse" has been going on all season, with pockets of multiple wins and multiple losses. Only now, since they lost two regulation in a row, are we calling it a collapse? They've been playing well as of recent, but cannot find a way to get a puck into the net. There is a chance the wings play really well the rest of the season, and still dont make the playoffs. They could have 98 points and still techincally not make it cause of how well the East teams are playing.

4. Being from TN the Wings got me into hockey in the mid 90s. They were so much fun to watch for someone trying to learn and understand the game. Fedorov is still my favorite player. The last decade has been rough to say the least.😮

5. I started watching hockey in 1991. The Red Wings made the playoffs that year and every year up to 2016. I went from age 19 to age 44 during that streak. That's insane. From teenager to middle aged. It's so strange to me that the Red Wings are not perennial favorites, but times change.

15. Every year Larkin gets hurt and they fall apart. I'm a life long wins fan but Larkin is NOT a 1st line center, he's a 2nd. We've given Yzerman tons of rope, and yeah, when he came here I was a believer, but not anymore. Always focuses on defense, never offense. I stated this in one of your earlier videos, you cannot make the playoffs in the NHL with a season long negative goal differential, and they have for 10 freakin years… they're not quite the dead wings yet, but they're getting there.

16. Yeah no shock Detroit is cooked, I’ll be honest I think it is time for talk about Yzerman needing to go with another collapse. I’ll always respect him as a player and he did wonders in Tampa with the Lighting. But with a change of multiple coaches and player change over the last few seasons, that is not the commonality in Detroit it’s GM Steve Yzerman. He is not bringing enough talent to take Detroit to the next level. The AHL team has kicked ass but once any player comes up to Detroit they are underwhelming.

22. Even at times when they were in a Top 3 Atlantic spot, they had a negative goal-differential. Living and dying by one-goal games. Which helps if you reach the playoffs. Doesn't help if you don't make it.

30. The Wings have a talent deficiency. Too many draft lottery robberies. Every year that they were nearly last in the league, other draft standing got dropped!
    Now with the salary cap going up, Yzerman's careful cap spending, is no longer much of an advantage. He can try to entice players to come to Detroit, but even with all the money and a competitive trade package, ultimately the players still have to want to come here.
    That means it's going to be difficult, if not impossible to improve their talent standing.

31. Good teams have depth…if losing one or two players is going to cost you a play off run then they need a better AHL system.

32. The two things I predicted heading into the Olympic break were the Wings having a complete meltdown and Crosby ruining our shot at gold. It sucks that the Wings did it again and bluffed in the second half but in reality this team is nowhere near a real contender. Our special teams is terrible, our forecheck is awful, and we have no depth. Yzerman has drafted well but his other moves have been pretty garbage. I still have faith in the vision and I hope by 2029-2030 we have the best one two punch in the league with Augustine n Cossa.

35. The horrible part is, they had really bad draft lottery luck, but the worst part is now that the salary cap is going up. All of these good cup teams won't be losing their top talent to free agency. They can sign them all, whereas before these top teams couldn't sign all their good players. So you could free agent a lot of talent.

38. I've looked at the remaining games, and I see Detroit getting 13 points in the next 11 games, for a total of 97 points. Honestly, I think 97 will come up one point shy!!

39. I've seen the Red Wings this year be the better team for an entire game. They just don't win those games because they can't put pucks in the net. Finishing was the problem for the first couple months, finishing is a problem the last month.
