5. Let's be CLEAR about one thing with the Raiders. for YEARS there was a bad culture. There were vets who signed their LAST contract and the Raiders were happy to pay them that last contract. But that player KNEW the Raiders were NOT winning anything so they never put in any effort. Those around the league called it the retirement home. Al Died, Mark brought in the first new GM and he proceeded to TRY and fix that culture by cutting everyone. it was the worst pieces of GM'ing in NFL history. But mckinzey tried to gut the team and remove the culture. that was his focus (he was horrible at the GM world). That BAD CULTURE continued despite the efforts of the GM to gut it and try to install a new culture.

   SO what happened?! Raiders DRAFTED a player named Maxx Crosby in the 4th round. He came in, cleaned up his act, then he ALONE cleaned up the culture of the Raiders. HE set standards. He became great and HE made sure others were paying attention. HE set the tone "if you are not here to win – you need to find the exit"

   RAIDERS are a BAD team because of the coaching and bad coaching hires (you don't hire your kids as carroll did or try to bring some other standard to a team as mcdaniels tried to do). The REASON raiders are BAD is because of all the BAD coaching hires. BUT IT IS NOT because of the culture! (shocking! i know!) MAXX is WHY the culture is different!

   RAIDERS had bad coaching hires, horrible drafts (the worst drafts), HORRIBLE FA moves and decisions during the off season! This is why they suck – but it is NOT because of the Culture! why?! Maxx Crosby! You don't get to slack around him. THIS IS WHY the RAIDERS CANNOT get rid of him! IF you asked that first GM if it was worth two frist round picks to fix that culture – he would have done cartwheels! and screamed yes!!

   RAIDERS cannot GET RID OF MAXX!! HE IS FAR too important as the build this team! AND from what i am seeing – they did an astonishing job in just this first year! By year 3, Raiders will be contenders!

15. Even though it's not mentioned I'll assume Pelissero said it. All journalists who engage in this type of cheesy off-season bait are banned from my listening. I will never pay attention to Pelissero again, we have to take these sorts of hard lines I don't have time for this crap.
