  2. I wonder how much of this is just noise or if there’s anything meaningful here. Obviously there are other/better ways of measuring success, like AV or games played or whatever, but I wonder if there’s something about it being just outside the top 5, where teams take risky gambles on QBs or something, leaving a surefire star at a position with lesser importance available at 6.

    Quentin Nelson comes to mind, drafted at 6 even though everyone knew he was a sure HOFer. I could see a guy like Downs going at 6 after the early run on QB and edge rushers, and immediately having the best chance at a HOF career while also not really being worth a top 3-5 pick.
