Both surprised and not surprised at the same time. Surely just more safety depth.
Edit: I’m surprised at how controversial such an innocuous comment could be. lol
Honestly surprised he didn’t go to Pittsburgh. Happy to have him back as depth and a plus special teamer.
He isn’t nearly as bad as people here seem to think he is. Good ST and about as good of a backup as you can get without paying starter money.
more depth can’t be mad
The Undertaker returns!
I thought he was only a McDermott core player?
It appears the Bills are on to filling out the roster with minimum contract guys. Hamlin is limited as an athlete, but they have to get up to 90 for camp battles and safety is pretty thin. I wouldn’t want him on the 53, but you need cheap signings prior to the draft to help relieve the pressure and draft BPA. I’m not sure if Hamlin really does that, but if they are in the 7th round and see a few positions available, maybe this lets them sign a depth corner, fullback, kicker, etc, instead.
I’m here to be annoyed by the people who are mad about this.
Good depth signing
depth & good on ST, not mad about it lol but I’m sure some reactions will be calm I’m sure
He’s a pretty good backup. As long as hes not getting starter money or penciled in As a starter, I’m fine with it.
That’s fine especially since Cam Lewis was ostensibly the S4 and a special teamer last year, and we lost him. Damar is a playably mediocre Safety so fingers crossed we get someone better in the draft that lets us cut him or Geno Stone, but if we don’t at least we have baseline depth.
The Bills have like 25+ open roster spots and only 7 draft picks there’s gonna be a need to have bodies in there for camp to compete for both back end roster spots and the veteran Practice Squad spots.
Hamlin in the mix on a minimum deal is not bad at all. He’s started about two seasons worth of games for this team most recently starting all of 2024 and he’s a willing Special Teams player (played all of 2023 as a consistent special teams player).
This team by no means should want Hamlin to start any consistent amount of games but to have him in there as a camp competition is a good move.
Good signing, at worst he’s a camp body, at best he’s a solid core special teamer who never sees the field on D.
Safety depth and special teams juice, can’t argue with that.
Good depth. Good person. Good Bill.
He’s not fast but he’s also not afraid to tackle.
Sure, why not
Anyone that trashes Damar Hamlin is an insecure troll. He’s a good backup, good leader, and fits the team culture. End of story.
He had a solid season in 2024. Glad to see him still living his dream especially after it all.
If we can add Tre White for depth, we can really focus on the front seven from here on out.
We cannot escape but eh no guarantees he makes the team no worries
I never understood why people want him gone. Sure he’s unspectacular but really I want my back up safeties to be unspectacular. Same with special teams players. He comes in and you know 80% of the time he’s going to make the safe right play.
Absolutely worth it for depth and leadership. I don’t see how this is remotely controversial.
Good man, decent backup. No problem at all with this.
Honestly a solid depth piece beyond the Buffalove connection, which is a nice bonus
Never understood the hate around this guy. He was a solid starter when Hyde went down in 2022. He wasn’t great but he rarely made costly mistakes that year which is what you hope from a backup.
It seems like all the hate towards him weirdly came from fans of other teams after the incident and for some reason there’s a lot of Bills fans joining in now.
We gonna draft a S, too many guys on 1 year deals.
Holy fuck the “fans” on Facebook
I hope they sign this dude for as long as he’s able to lace ’em up even if it’s just for special teams or to the practice squad. Literally gave it ALL to ball.
Gotta get him a ring before he goes somewhere else!
Typically we’re not allowed to have fairy tale endings, but Damar winning a ring would be a great one!
Sick.
I fail to see this as an issue. Hes not a starter but if you sign him as your #3 thats perfectly fine.
