Some food for thought with these numbers being accurate, we just need to appreciate what we had for so long. I wish I would have relished the moment even more. These records never get surpassed, with games rested, possibilities of shortening the season, and Stocktons greatness.

These records will likely never be passed. In basketball, a PG that can score, and score a lot will always be more valuable then a straight up game manager like Stockton. What Stockton accomplished is truly amazing though. It’s a shame that that entire era is tainted by the child rapist.
He’s consistently ranked top 5 PG all time, prob #2 behind Magic if you narrow it down to pass first PGs. People who know ball respect Stockton.

Only Magic had a higher assist per game average, and he did that with over 25% more turnovers per game. Chris Paul had slightly fewer turnovers per game, but with a lower assist average. Stockton is the assist goat for so many reasons. His steals total will never be touched either. Third highest all time average combined with superior longevity and grit. Not a PG anyone wanted to play against, because he would produce both ways against even the most elite players of the time. Goat PG in my book.
These exact reasons are why Stockton is the GOAT point guard. No questions, no exceptions. The only other person to even be part of the conversation is Magic.
He and Malone also hold the record of most consecutive playoff appearances. They never missed them!
Ainge woulda traded him
