Realistically what needs to happen within the next 9-10 games in order for the Ducks to clinch the pacific division? How many games do they need to win in their next 10 and how many would the Oilers and Knights need to lose? I’m a newer fan and I need help understanding this for my peace** of mind lol

Saturday is a big one, a reg win puts the ducks 3 1/2 games ahead of the oilers. Assume Vegas wins. And the ducks will have 9 games to their 8 with 3 1/2 game lead. It gets messy with OT losses from what I would guess.
They are currently at a 56% win % so let’s just try applying 6 wins, 3 losses, and 1 OT loss. Thats 13 points getting them to 99. If they will like that, I think Oilers would essentially need to win all 9 games left.

If they beat Edmonton tomorrow, then they probably only need to win 3-4 more games to clinch the division. If they lose tomorrow then they probably need to win 5 or 6.
It would be healthier to simply win every game until the end of the year

Do love seeing this. Man if the Ducks were even slightly sub .500 in that 9 game stretch, theyd command more respect league-wide.
Lots of East coast fans talking poorly of the Pacific and the Ducks and how unfair it is that some good teams are going to miss the playoffs based on points but only 3 Eastern teams have more wins than the Ducks and are tied for 6th in the league in wins with a game in hand on both NYI and MIN.
If they had just 4 wins in that 9 game stretch would be tied for 4th in the league right now with Tampa. That being said, to date the Ducks also lead the league in games with 5+ goals allowed in a game. I mean great experience for high pressure situations in the future but if the Ducks could just dial in for longer stretches on defense man they’d be sitting pretty right now and feared a whole lot more. 2-3 seasons and the West will be dominant once more

That’s more OT losses than (top 7 in fewest OTL) NJ, FLA, ANA, NYI, CAR, TB and UTA combined at 32 OTL! Absolutely putrid.
