Paolo working with Shammgod on Handles, Footwork, Finishing

  1. Good. Gotta have him finish at the rim. He needs to get back to the baseline fade he used to do.

  2. His handles in traffic is easily one of his biggest issues, as half the reason he seems to struggle with decision making is when he sees multiple defenders and is worried about his dribble. If he can tighten up that dribble and keep it lower with a more reliable off hand switch it will due wonders in traffic.

  3. While undoubtedly a good thing, isn’t it kinda weird that “Star player working with team’s assistant coach” is a headline?

Like, yeah? Shouldn’t he have been doing that all along?

  4. Paolo working on things with his coaching staff??? Why I don’t think that’s ever happened before in the history of the NBA

  5. To me, Paolo’s biggest change recently has been that he’s changed his priority to finishing at the rim first and hoping for a foul as a bonus instead of always foul baiting and hoping his errant shot goes in for an and-one. If you’re not getting the superstar treatment every trip down the court, then constantly trying to bait people into an and-one is going to kill your efficiency. It seems like at some point around the all star break his approach flipped.

I have no data to back this up, just an eye test.
