  1. Only allowed 2 runs, that’s nice at least. I’ll wait until they don’t hit in that black hole of a stadium before commenting on the offense.

  2. I know it’s 1 game but they looked WAY better in this loss than they did all season last year. I love the aggressive base running, even though it cost some outs. They got to one of the best pitchers out there in an early inning. Decent at bats that earned some walks. I like it.

  3. Glad I didn’t go for the impulse trip and fly out for the game to check Marlins Park off my stadium list.

  4. Well seeing as how this team is prone to going on losing streaks, and not great at winning back-to-back games, a loss tomorrow threatens the outcome of playing all 162 games with a sub .500 record.

Last year they played 161 games at below .500 and one game at .500.

You can’t make this shit up.

  5. Honestly this game was fun even if it was a loss. It wasn’t a slam dunk for the Marlins even though Freeland got into some early jams.

  6. Tough game. Sandy Alcantara continues his late last season come back. 7 innings of good pitching. Kept it close.

  7. Thought we played well, Freeland had a solid start – got out of some heat a couple of times – and we made good contact. I really don’t think it was a good idea to send McCarthy in the 4th. I understand that the team has a bit of an emphasis on being aggressive, but being too aggressive can hurt you, and that was the case right there. No outs and we ran ourselves out of a run.

Overall, I liked what I saw. Obviously we need to string together more hits and put up runs, but it’s just the 1st of 162

  8. Close lol. Wanted a win to start the season but I think these guys will adjust just fine

  9. Alcantara is still a very good pitcher. I’m not feeling as completely hopeless as normal
