Mike Granlund admits the Ducks must find ‘easier ways’ to win a game

  1. Sure they could and probably should. I will say as a fan, it’s way more fun the way they’ve been doing it.

  2. At least I stopped freaking out when we dont go score first. It just seems normal now.

  3. Relying on coming from behind every game simply will not work in the playoffs.

  4. Well it’s good they acknolwedge it, maybe they can use the games after Edmonton to try and work on that least a bit.

  5. I think part of the success of the Ducks is they go full steam ahead the second they get the puck (including defensemen), and when there is a turnover, they find themselves in trouble. So, it’s hard to have high scoring without that fast rush as the defensemen are usually part of the offense. They were playing well with the more bland defensive style, but Q seems to like the run and gun style, and he says the players have fun. So, I feel that’s why he’s not changing it back.

  6. To me, it’s more about getting the lead and shutting it down. Coming behind in the playoffs isn’t going to cut it, especially against teams like the Avs, Stars, Wild, etc.

  7. I saw a crazy stat that since the break we’ve given up the first goal in every game but are 11-4-1 in that span. But yes if we can not start out slow we’ll have a better chance in the playoofs
