I think I know why the season ticket prices went up, fans about to pay for lawyers and settlements costs This is actually disgusting and horrific but this has been known sadly. Canucks fans we need to protest for a new owner.

‘ The U.S. government alleges that the Harvest Plus farm workers at Aquilini Vineyards were “forced to work in unsafe working conditions, including extreme heat, at times without drinking water.” ‘

  1. Sorry fellow canucks fans but if you pay for tickets to support this ownership group, you are paying to say that you are okay with this kind of behaviour.

Support the Goldeneyes. Support the Giants.

edit: was fully prepared to be downvoted into oblivion for this comment but I’m happy to say this comment has majorly passed the vibe check. I don’t expect everyone to march the streets with their hockey sticks (would be sick tho), but I do expect people to vote stand by their ethics and vote with their wallet.

  2. I’m cool with a full rebuild that ends when aquilini sells the team. I’d rather lose than watch him touch the cup.

  3. Enough is enough. We’re are never going to get our team back as long as the Aquilini’s are involved.
I wish everyone would just boycott the games. I haven’t watch a single Canucks game in full this year because they don’t deserve to be supported.

  4. Imagine giving your hard earned money to this guy so he can go ripoff his own employees counter sue them back and let this FO play mickey and continue destroying this franchise.

  5. Sure the owner is a total piece of shit and I hope he just fucks off very soon, but let’s not turn this into one of those things where ppl call out others for still going to the games to support the players and the staff.

They have nothing to do with whatever fucked up shit Aquaman is involved with, the Canucks as a franchise are so more than the piece of shit owner.

  6. Does this have anything to do with the Dailyhive article that was taken down?

I think it was titled “Aquilini named in US criminal case”. I believe it was posted yesterday.

  7. Terrible owner is terrible.

We won’t be paying for games anytime soon. I hate how he treats his workers.

  8. Oh please.

You people screaming over Aquilini’s association with an American labor contractor miss the irony of using Reddit to learn about this, Googling for the news report, and using an iPad to post here.

    So much for boycott America.

Give the virtue signaling a rest. Hypocrites

  9. Aquilini family did this stuff on their farms in Canada in 2019. They had to pay $130,000 in wages that were stolen by the Aquilinis from their TFW field workers. They were fined $250,000 by Worksafe for egregious safety violations. Papa Luigi denied workers water on the blueberry farm.

Wondering why the Aquilinis sub-contract the workers?

In 2017, 2 children ages 10 and 7 died from burns.  The parents were burned in the fire and had extensive injuries. The parents worked on the winery property. They were given substandard housing on the winery. The mobile home lacked smoke alarms. Illegal extensive electrical work was done in the mobile home by unqualified workers and without permits.

    Fast forward to today:

The subcontractor in the USA didn’t pay the workers their proper wages. They denied the workers water. They made the workers pay for their accommodation. These are things the Aquilinis did in Canada. Kinda interesting.

I wonder if there is a personal connection between  the Aquilinis and the sub contractor who provided migrant labourer jobs to the Washington state winery.

The Aquilinis have shown time and time again that they don’t care about their workers, that they will cut corners to save a buck.
