PGT: Tampa Bay Rays (0-2) mount a 5-run comeback in the 9th inning, only to get walked off in the 10th because Griffin Jax can’t pitch. [F/10: 5-6]

  1. Bullpen sucks. Outfield sucks. If anyone wants to copy and paste this comment into the next 160 post game threads to save me the trouble I’d appreciate it.

  2. Remember when the game was on lockdown if we had the lead in the 5th inning back in 2020. Those were good times

  3. Remember, this is a rebuilding Cardinals team, too. Wait until we start playing actual contenders.

  4. 2 games in and I’m already sick of this team. This is gonna be a long year

  5. Is it time to start questioning this front office. They make questionable move after questionable move and I really don’t think their approach is going to work anymore. Cycling talent in and out isn’t a viable strategy anymore. Moneyball is dead

  6. Why the fuck is Fraley hitting third? Why the fuck was Vilade hitting second on Thursday? Why the fuck is Cash putting the worst hitters in the top 3 spots of the lineup? Why do they still trust Jax with high leverage situations?

You know what would have been cool? If Caminero was in the top 3 and had a chance to bat again. You what would have been cool? Not throwing Griffin Jax out there in extras with a runner on when literally everybody on the planet knows he can’t get strikeouts except for that one single time last year when he loaded the bases.

Why is this shit so damn predictable?

  7. I caught the tail end of that.

Man, our pitching let down the bats these two games, huh?

  8. Griffin Jax sucks…what an abysmal trade that was. Neander continues to trot out a mediocre roster each of the last 3 years and the new owners appear to be Stu in disguise. Don’t give me the stadium excuse.

  9. Griffin Jax congrats you are first pitcher in MLB history to get worse after joining the Rays

  10. You watch baker who just made it look easy and you decide to put the game in jax’s hands
When was the last time he saved a game?

    I honestly can’t remember.

  11. We’ve gotta get Caminero to the plate at the bottom of the 10th there… it made no sense to run in that situation because then you’ve got you’re best hitter at the plate and if he walks you’ll be at second anyways

Also where’s the dive on that ground ball to end the game… ah man could’ve only had one run there if you keep it in the infield then first and third with one out

Either way, I’m happy we strung something together and didn’t get shutout. Go Rays

  12. Welp on the bright side, we’re putting ourselves in the position to win (to only be let down in soul crushing fashion)

  13. We are only 2 games into the season and I’ve already lost count of how many times I’ve sarcastically laughed at our performance, mainly the bullpen.

My prediction was that we would be around a 75-win club, but still give our AL East rivals a headache. If that is going to happen, idk what’s worse: a lifeless offense or a porous bullpen? We’ve experienced many terrible lineups in the past, so at least the offense hasn’t quit. Plus, it’s certainly more entertaining this way. We’ll be the best worst team ever!!!

  14. Why do they continue to trust this fucking clown in high leverage spots??? He was absolutely dogshit last year in high leverage to the tune of a 7.20 ERA then they moved him to low leverage the last 10 games of the year and he was ok. 2 games into the season and 2 games in a row this fucking clown has blown….what the fuck are we missing here that they keep rolling this clown out there and think anything is going to change?

  15. If we are the first team to get swept this season. I’m jumping ship. Hello Orlando Dreamers!

  16. we are 0-2 against a team that is guaranteed to finish last in their division, this defense is ATROCIOUS, lineup has no depth, bullpen is a joke, this season is already over

  17. Maybe we should hit Junior Caminero 7th next game just to see what happens. Protect the bottom 3rd or something.

  18. Starting pitching has given up 3 runs over 11 innings. Bullpen has given up 12 over 7.

  19. Pitching lab may actually be dead, just two pretty bad losses against a team that probably isn’t a contender!
