Including the WBC, Cal Raleigh is batting 0-18 with 12 Ks to open his 2026 campaign

  1. Power bat whose primary value for his career has been in being an above-average catcher with everyday durability has ugly start to the season? Yeah no duh.

People expecting back-to-back MVP campaigns are probably going to be disappointed no matter what, but the doom and gloom over two regular season games is wild to me.

  2. he didn’t get a hit until the fourth game of last season and we all saw how that turned out (that said, his swing is looking rough rn and I hope he finds it again very soon)

  3. Terrible team USA WBC vibes carrying over. Should have just shaken Randy’s hand.

  4. People are surprised a guy who had a one-off season (still only 161 wRC+ btw despite the home runs) is regressing back to where was?

~115 wRC+ is fantastic for a catcher but let’s not pretend he was some otherworldly hitter.

  5. tbf, Devers started last season like 0-16 with a bajillion strikeouts, and he ended up having a productive and drama-free season

  6. Back to his old ways! I was not a fan of Cal 2-3 years ago when all he did was bat .085 and either hit a home run or strike out

  7. Who would have guessed that Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh would be the first 2 DFA candidates of the year?

  8. Chris young said it in the post game last night but there’s nothing to worry about right now. We’re two games into the season and sometimes all it takes is one hit to get back on track. Moreover, while your stat line is true it ignores the hits and home run he hit in the week of spring training he had in between the WBC and the start of the season.

  9. 20 games into the season a post like this might be relevant. 2 games into the season is stupid as hell.

  10. Batters will slump. Judge and Devers had horrid starts in their career some seasons.

The Dump gonna smack another 60hrs now.

  11. The WBC ruined Team USA players. It’s going to take another two months before they are able to find some consistency.
