BIG Bears Trade Rumor: Tyrique Stevenson To The Chiefs? A Win-Win + BIG D-Lineman Visit Confirmed

Is Tyrique Stevenson Heading to the Chiefs? 🐻 Bleacher Report’s Shocking Trade Rumor + The 310lb “Freak Athlete” Visiting Halas Hall Today!

Bears Nation, the 2026 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and Ryan Poles is officially entering “Dealer Mode.” Today, March 28, 2026, two massive stories have collided that could completely reshape the Bears’ secondary and defensive line. First, a bombshell trade proposal from Moe Moton of Bleacher Report suggests the Bears could send starting cornerback Tyrique Stevenson to the Kansas City Chiefs in a major move to fix Chicago’s current salary cap crunch.

But as one door potentially closes, another opens. The Bears are officially hosting Washington defensive tackle Anterio Thompson on a Top 30 Visit. We are talking about a 310-pound “athletic freak” who just posted numbers that would have shattered the NFL Combine. Is Poles preparing to clear cap space for a veteran “Big Fish” while reloading through the draft? We’re breaking down the film, the finances, and the future of this roster!

1. THE TYRIQUE STEVENSON TRADE BOMBSHELL
Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton has proposed a trade that is sending shockwaves through the NFC North. The logic is simple: The Kansas City Chiefs are desperate for secondary help after losing veteran depth, and the Bears are currently sitting on a very tight salary cap.

The Financial Pivot: Trading Stevenson would clear roughly $3.67 Million in immediate cap space. For a team that still needs to sign its 2026 draft class and potentially look at veteran edge rushers, this might be a “necessary evil” for Ryan Poles.

The Risk Factor: Stevenson is entering a pivotal year of his rookie deal. If the Bears don’t plan on a massive extension in 2027, Moton argues trading him now for Day 2 draft capital is the smarter long-term play.

The Fit: While Stevenson has been a ball-hawk, his aggressive style has led to some big plays allowed. Is it time to sell high and let Dennis Allen handpick a corner that fits his specific press-man requirements?

2. TOP 30 VISIT: THE ANTERIO THOMPSON “FREAK” SHOW
While the national media is focused on the blue-chip names, Ryan Poles is scouting a “secret weapon” from the University of Washington. Anterio Thompson is officially at Halas Hall today, and his Pro Day numbers are nothing short of legendary.

The Fastest DT in the Class: At 306 lbs, Thompson ran a blistering 4.75-second 40-yard dash. To put that in perspective, that would have been the #1 fastest time for all defensive tackles at the 2026 Combine.

The Raw Power: He paired that elite speed with 30 reps on the bench press and a 9.36 RAS (Relative Athletic Score).

The “Diamond in the Rough”: Thompson is a “journeyman” find who has played for four schools in four years. He’s the ultimate “high-upside” project that Dennis Allen loves to mold. If he’s available on Day 3, does he become the heir apparent to the interior d-line?

3. THE VERDICT: IS THE ROSTER PURGE COMING?
If Ryan Poles moves Stevenson, it signals a complete shift in philosophy for the 2026 season. We analyze if the Bears are clearing space for a superstar signing (Haason Reddick? Joey Bosa?) or if they are simply stockpiling picks to build a younger, faster core around Caleb Williams.

BEARS NATION, JOIN THE DEBATE! šŸ—³ļø

Does Anterio Thompson’s 4.75 speed make him a “Must-Draft” project for you?

  2. Did not trust Terrell Smith when he was drafted. Stayed hurt his entire career at the University of Minnesota. While good as long as he's playing his accountability is lacking

  3. The Bears are not deep at CB, out of all the guys you mentioned only 2-3 can play outside CB. Gordon failed at outside CB he’s too slow. Frazier and Smith are probably the only 2 who have the speed to play outside.

  4. I prefer players that know what galaxy they're in Nic. Not THOSE Velus Jones' of the world that do Velus Jones Jr things that make us rake our faces. Drives me nuts!!!

  5. This is Stevenson's contract yr and we all know how that goes, they go balls out for that big money 2nd contract. Let him play this yr out and hope he becomes the player we all think he could be. He's got all the skills to be a good to great cb on my opinion….keep him for sure. Don't be stupid poles

  6. We need him either way at this point. Whether he's starting, or deph. Remember going into last season, our secondary was tight? Then injuries hit, and we were thin! If we didn't have so many holes to fill, I'd trade him.

  7. Tyrique would be an All pro Safety if he would mature but the Bears don't put players in the best position to succeed.
Like Sweat & Dayo should be their 2 Starting DTs, especially on passing downs & protecting leads.
Dennis Allen thinks DTs are Edges, 280lbs Big, slow with no get off, low motor, no violence or aggression.

  8. Stevenson never rebounded after running his mouth and giving up that play against Washington. Last year when everyone was injured he was a scratch he can go.

  9. Undecided? Kinda and Kinda Not!!
I Guess better Lose him know than Next Season when we Can’t Afford Him in 2027, so I’d Say yeah let’s do it as long as Poles doesn’t Screw up the Draft and what I personally think we should Pretty much pick Nothing but Defense Players.
Also like the idea of Giving Blackwell more Playing Time Cuz he’s a BEAST on Special Teams. šŸ»šŸ”½ Chicago Bears 🐻 Family!!

Yeah the NFL Screwed us Not getting those Extra Picks,
    (Trade)

  10. Trade him that would be stupid he looked like the best cover back we get Kyla Gordon don't be on the field enough hopefully Johnson was just hurt last year at the end hopefully he look like he used to but right now Stevenson is the best corner we got why would you trade him That's just stupid

  11. I know everyone is hi on Dennis Allen, all i keep hear is "Dennis allen knows him, him and him" I need for him to show us, his saints wasnt all that so send stevensen and its time for him to coach or let go, our defense was Terrible finishing in the bottom of the league,,,,The Bears (not poles) fired Lovie Smith after winning 10 games???? We are stuck with D. Allen it is way to late in the process. Please make me wrong !!! Great defense We go to the SB!!!
