Essentially Trevor Beggs wrote about the Aquilini family's involvement in the case brought against Harvest Plus by the US Government.

Aquilini didn't like it. He lost his credentials.

Cool.

Now you know why Media in this town doesn't torch Aquilini the way he deserves.

Nobody wants to bite the hand that feeds them.

  1. Crazy they did this and wild that Daily Hive caved on the story so quickly. Canucks beats all quiet on this too. Embarrassing all around.

    The corporate base is probably a lost cause, but maybe the people still have a sense of humanity 

  6. Every day I find another reason to stop giving a shit about this team for the next 5 years. Maybe I was happier as a bandwagon fan 15 years ago, all I’ve known is pain since then.

  8. Yeah I am not surprised. This is why our media is very chill and don’t really ask the difficult questions in comparison to other sport markets. I don’t blame them at all, it’s their livelihood and they need to make an earning somehow.

  10. Disgraceful shit from Daily Hive. This is a pattern over the last few years stories that paint the team in a negative light are not covered, or drastically under-reported. Aquilini child abuse allegations went wayyyy underreported. Hell, the NHL reacted more strongly to Sean Avery saying “sloppy seconds” than they did this! And part of the reason why is because local media were silent about it. Same goes for the farm abuse stories.

  21. I’ll start by saying if the story is not true, he deserves to lose his press credentials either temporarily or permanently if the story was written with malice.

    However, if this was a legit story then all I can say is the Aquilinis are POS. The sooner they are no longer owners of the team the better. It is time for fans to just stop spending money on the team. The city deserves strong leadership with good character (ha ha billionaire with character — we can wish).

  26. Francesco Aquilini is such a tiny little man and Canucks fans deserve better ownership. I think Canuck fans should raise money to get a plane to tow a sign saying Francesco needs to go

  27. Press passes should be issued by the league not team owners. That probably wouldn’t fully solve the problem but it would be better than what’s going on now

  30. Everybody knows exactly what the Aquilini’s are like. Just read the Vancouver Sun newspaper. Treatment of those working in the fields is disgusting.

  33. Been a slow slide into me not giving this team any money or attention to the Canucks since McCaw sold the team to these local losers. I’m not sure it can go lower.

  35. The reason the Daily Hive piece got pulled is probably because it treated a legal issue like a quick content story. Just click bait. That has consequences. Proper reporting reached out for comment, which clearly separates this from Aquilini and the Canucks.
