Bengals Make SHOCKING Pick That Revamps Their Defense in Mock Draft

What if the top 6 defensive players in the draft are selected before the Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock? Jake Liscow and James Rapien work through that scenario in this week’s Mock Draft Monday, where offensive linemen like Francis Mauigoa and Vega Ioane or wide receivers like Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon are the best players available.

Could the Bengals go offense at 10 in that scenario, or would the next best corner like Jermod McCoy top their board if he has an impressive Pro Day? The guys go 4 rounds with 4 weeks to go until the draft.

  1. Always. Always take the BPA. Over the last decade the only difference makers we draft were the BPA. All but a couple others were just roster fillers. Always take the BPA every round. Fill needs with FA. That is how successful team do it. In this case take Tate. He is the BPA. Reach for need and die. But I would accept Lemon I guess.

  2. Guys,
If defense is the pick. The #1 question is can the player tackle? Tackling was the biggest issue last year. You need a guy who sets a tone. All you guys do is split hairs over the “WHAT IFS”. Position of need and can he tackle. That’s it. Keep it simple!

  3. I believe we will go dulane or trade back the elite players wi be gone i doubt bain falls to us at 10 because of his short arms. Maybe thos is why we're quiet in free agency if they dont get him there's clowney bosa other veterans if they dont get styles get wagoner or brooks

  4. I really liked this draft. I want to see McCoy test though. It’s been a theme if we don’t get a LB early in these mocks it’s hard to find a worthy LB pick later.

  5. BPA for sure. And solid take on the whole 5th round pick preciousness. In no universe am I convinced that 5th is worth more than Flacco lol. (2 seasons worth of Flacco now.) How about trading up if a guy they REALLY like is still there at 6 or 7? Like our 1st and Chris Jenkins for 6 or 7?? 😉

  6. PROBLEM NO SAFETY OR ANOTHER NIKEL HELP,NEITHER IN 4 RDS,?? HOW ABOUT A BACK UP O.TACKLE,&. RUNNING BACK IN 5TH.OR 6TH.& MIGHT WE TRY A BACK UP CENTE🎉R.LATE.

  7. I don't know if anyone from this channel ever reads this stuff, but some of their picks I agree with and some not.
I just want to know what Jake or James thinks of these picks.
    1. Reuben Bain Edge Miami
    2. C.J. Allen. LB. Georgia
    3. A.J. Haulcy. Safety. LSU
    4. Daylen Everett CB. Georgia
    5. Parker Brailsford. IOL. Alabama
    6. Jack Endries. TE. Texas
    7. Tyler Onyedim. DL. Texas A&M
    8. Cade Klubnik. QB. Clemson
These are my picks 1-8. I'm hoping the majority of them work out if we draft them.

  8. First thing to consider is what picks help us when the division so ask yourself what does the division do best and how do we stop that. What are we worrying about??
    – WRs: DK & Flowers are the only threat. We’ve stop them plenty of times. CB Not a priority.
    – TEs: Andrews, Washington, Fanin Jr. ALL PROBLEMS that we’ve loss games too. LB & Safety HIGH PRIORITIES.
    Etc. Etc.
We need to bring in impact players to stop or counter what the teams in our division do best. It’s no QB in our division that passing abilities or WRs weapons make me draft a CB in rd.1 over another Edge, Safety, Linebacker or even the Top RB or TE.

  9. Honestly if no one we want is available at 10 I say we took the best available player regardless of position. We can try him out and trade either the pick or the guy he replaced for a premium at the trade deadline. I know its a horrible plan but if everyone we think will help is gone our choices are trade back (under the circumstances I doubt other teams would be willing to trade up), make a huge reach (waste of a pick) or you take the best available player regardless of position and hope for the best. I would rather have two studs at one position then reach for someone at 10 that doesn't deserve it and end up with a overdrafted bust.

  10. Great show! I think we are extremely likely to see this scenario (where R. Bain, D. Bailey, A. Reese, S. Styles and Caleb Downs are all GONE at 1.10) in the actual NFL draft. Hope I am wrong but I love seeing how you approached this. Thank you! 🏈🐅

  11. I'm open to all of it !!! I've started thinking about CJ Allen draft 2 LB's some these guys can play big slot saftey type roll. Trade back in that type scenario. I have Sadiq over all Wr's & PennState OG Vegga is prolly BPA & love versatility of other O-line guys

  12. Francis Mauigoa is the EASY choice at 10 if these are the options. Simple. I would only use 2 Picks for Defense whenever a Player falls or a position of need is available. Protecting Burrow is ALWAYS a great option. The Bengals O-LINE IS BAD. I'm not using my 1st Round PICK on someone who already tore there KNEE UP IN COLLEGE. WAKE UP
