Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today the following changes to the team’s coaching staff: Bruce Cassidy has been relieved of his duties and John Tortorella has been named the team’s head coach.

  2. This was the worst possible move. Should have fired McCrimmon instead. Cassidy will get scooped up in a hurry and win a cup there quickly.

  7. Guess they needed a fall guy. Cassidy isn’t blameless, but he’s far from the biggest issue. Not that we were going to make any noise in the playoffs, but this puts a bullet in the head of any small locker room vibes this team had left.

  14. Predictable that the fired Cassidy. Look at what happened to the first 2 coaches. But Torts?? Holy hell.
    I hope he proves me wrong.

  16. The only way this makes sense is that he lost the locker room. Think about it. The team has been mid all season long, but post Olympic break they’ve been absolute ass…for why? The vibe / mental game has to be way way off.

  35. I am so irritated by this news. I don’t think Tortorella is going to make more blocker saves for us.

    The only thing is if Bruce rubbed some players the wrong way this year. I don’t think he’s been that bad calling out his goalie or some players in pressers this year. 😕

    Maybe Tortorella plays Hart down the stretch instead of Hill, but Cassidy could have done that also. 🤷‍♂️

    Going to go lift some weights to alleviate some of this irritation.
