Opening the season with a series loss to one of the worst teams in baseball over the past few years. Lovely start boys

  2. It’s March. Anyone who’s upset now is just looking for reasons to be miserable

  3. Booooo we gotta get our pitching figured out. Longggg season though, not going to overreact

  4. The universe gives us these little tests to grow our emotional intelligence

  5. it’s only march it’s only march it’s only march it’s only march it’s only march it’s only march it’s only march

  6. Turns out giving up a three run bomb in the first wasn’t a great strategy

  7. Meanwhile, Owen Cassie hit a walk off homer for his new team. We got Shaw and Conforto. Welp

  8. The issues with the offense and the rotation that appeared last year at the end are still extremely here.

  9. They’re definitely doomed, guys. Doomed, I tell you, DOOMED! DESPAIR FOR YOUR LIVES!

  10. Well, this definitely wasn’t the start to the season I anticipated when I saw the Cubs were facing the Nationals for three.

This particular game here was frustrating in that the Cubs seemed to hit a lot of line drives for outs. And Shota’s one big mistake was after getting two quick outs and allowing two soft singles.

  11. Sucks to lose but the organ playing “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton is extremely funny

  12. Deserved what we got out of that game, sweet nothing

Soundly and deservedly beaten 2 out of 3 and completely outplayed in both losses. Against this Nats pitching and lineup that’s some going, impressive stuff.

Breggy the only real positive to take out of that game, but that’s better than nothing.

    Bad day at the office.

  13. Joey fucking Wiemer lit up Cubs pitching in this series. Not a good way to start the season against a rebuilding team. 3 of the 4 Cubs hits were solo home runs

  14. Tough loss. 3 HRs is good, 4 total hits is bad.

Shōta was fine and even downright good for most of his outing. His stuff was on. Unfortunate bloop contact sequence for Wiemer’s HR to be a crooked number.

Cubs had some nice hard contact that went right at gloves. Shit sucks, but happens.

    159 left. We’re gonna be fine. Take a breath. It’s March 29.

  15. idk if i just have a bad memory but i swear we always lose the first series of the season. i’m annoyed we lost such a winnable series but hopefully we can bounce back against the angels

  16. They started 1-3 last year and lost 4 of their first 6.

Overreacting to losing the opening series is dramatic. Baseball is a rollercoaster of ups and downs.

Flush this series and go get ’em tomorrow.

  17. This is why I fuckin’ hate pre-season tournaments for all sports. Shit should always be done after the entire League is done for the year. So many players be getting dinged up or injured, like Suzuki, which now leaves us in avoidable scenarios like this where our team isn’t at 100%
