  1. Greg Weissert responsible for 2 straight losses 3 games into the season get this bum off my team

  2. To you who just entered this thread, turn back. There is nothing for you here.

  3. It’s really a shame that the best protection we can offer our 21 year old superstar is past his prime Trevor Story.

  4. Bullpen blowing a good start, annoying baserunning mistake, lack of clutch batting with RISP, and all of the above leading to another 1-run loss… I think I’ve seen this movie before.

  5. I said it in the game thread, but if we have a Trevor Story that slumps anywhere near as bad as he did last year to start the season we are in serious trouble.

  6. Rough start to the season. I’m not overly optimistic about this team outside of a handful of players.

  7. Another frustrating loss but I’m really happy with what we saw from Early today. On to Houston

  8. Seems like we can’t score runs just like last season. I’m glad we got that big bat this offseason.

  9. Sox sometimes have a pattern on coming out of Spring training with some real bone headed mental mistakes and it’s annoying to watch every year.

A 1-2 series loss in March will not be remembered at all but the batting approach is hard to watch on some of these high leveraged batter counts.

  10. The only thing that I’m really annoyed with so far is the lack of clutch hitting with RISP. I might lose my mind if that trend continues from last year

  11. Scattered thoughts on what was a mostly disappointing series, but not without its positives.

    – crochet is incredible etc etc

    – Not worried at all about Gray’s lousy start yesterday. He’s got a really great track record and he was still an excellent pick up. Think we’ll be really grateful to have him by year’s end.

    – Connelly Early is extremely exciting. I’m looking forward to watching him throughout the year and seeing him continue to grow. He’s just turning 24!

    – Wilyer is just outstanding. 35 bombs are on the table for him. Psyched!!!!

    – Willson Contreras was a fantastic add and he’s fit in perfectly. His defense at 1B and his eye at the plate is massive for this team.

    – Durbin had a ROUGH series, but I’m not out on him after just 3 games. I do see what the FO sees in him. Yes, I know, he’s not Alex Bregman, and I was as pissed as anyone that they flubbed that negotiation, but his profile is solid. Let’s see how he’s able to adjust and bounce back.

    – Weissert absolutely stinks.

    – Even though he hit a bomb yesterday, I’m really disappointed with the ABs Story took over the course of the series. I don’t think it’s fair to expect a hitter to be great every time they step into the box, but other that that HR, it’s very reminiscent of that terrible run he had last year.

    – I despise Cora pulling Mayer today. Extremely frustrating.

    See yall tomorrow 🫡

  12. Sucks to lose after that opening day, but basing anything on the first series of the year is dumb. There’s 159 games left, if we’re a month or 2 in and it still looks like this, then it’s panic time.

  13. Early was fantastic, Wilyer looks like an All Star. That’s all I have. On to tomorrow.

  14. Cheap ass ownership didn’t want to get another bat, that’s why we lost this series!

And losing the last game on the cheap power bat everyone wanted after losing bregman is fucking icing on the cheap fucking owners cake

  15. Opening Day is always so exciting that you almost forget how frustrating baseball can be when your team is losing.

I think this team will get hot and have stretches where they look like a top team, but I’m not sure if the offense is going to be consistent enough for us to keep pace with some of the better teams.

  16. Suarez would have been a good signing. Hitting dongs over the monster all summer.

  17. This series is already showing some of the cracks in the lineup with Roman’s lack of protection. Teams will learn to pitch around him like Cincinnati did in the 9th when you have a streaky, past-his-prime hitter like Story hitting behind him.

  18. To those who argued against power hitters, Suarez won this game on one swing in spite of a good start from our rotation. These are the types of games that happen with a team overly reliant on slap hitters and lack of pop. We left 9 on base and went 0-7 with RISP.

Some of these games will go the other way for us, but I think this will be a frustrating season offensively more often than not.

  19. Not going to mention I wanted Eugenio Suarez on the Red Sox for the power this team needs.

  20. fell a little short today but weve been there with a chance to win every game so far

  21. Connor Wong with two knocks. Yoshida played a fine LF with a good eye at the plate.

  22. Murakami has 3 HR in 3 games so far, by the way. Okamoto also homered today. Suarez homered today.

Durbin has more errors than hits.
