DISASTER: Orlando Magic COLLAPSE in worst loss ever—Franchise IDENTITY under question

The Orlando Magic suffered their worst loss in franchise history, falling 139-87 to the Toronto Raptors. What makes it worse is that they did so in a game that everyone acknowledged was vital to their Playoff chase. The Magic seem destined for the Play-In tournament and a summer of some extreme changes.

The Magic have lacked an identity all year. The defense that powered the team to the Playoffs in the last two years. But that defense has been nonexistent all year long and mediocre at best. The Magic do not know what they can rely on and what their baseline for success can be. They are in the Play-In merely because of talent that this team has failed to maximize this year.

But while it is clear that the team needs to overhaul its coaching staff and its bench, there is still the issue of this team’s fight and will. The team has struggled at the first sign of trouble all season. And having given up an NBA-record 31-0 run after taking a six-point lead, the Magic again wilted when put under a little bit of pressure once again.

Even a decent close to the season will not change a lot of the big questions the Magic will face.

  1. its mose all season hes lost the boys he needs to go and i really hate to say that bc i thought he could take us to a finals but its clear he cant

  2. Phillip, love the show! I think you do the best of any of the Locked On hosts. I also appreciate you calling out Jeff Weltman. I like Mosley, and like you, I believe he will be successful. You don’t get Luka to love you if you’re a stiff. But Weltman needs to take some responsibility this offseason because he built something that doesn’t work and I’m not sure he gets it or believes he has built a bad roster, and that’s a problem.

  3. remember he didnt want orlando to draft him he wanted to go to houston now he want to go to new expansion team seattle not a better way to get moved by mananagement is to become a cancer diva stuff comes next remember dwight ? i do

  4. What a embarrassment. Mosley gotta go these guys have quit on him. Fire him Now. Magic management have to make some major moves this off season. A underachieving team with high cap spending/ contracts. Mosley will be fired but their is additional issues as well.

  5. Been a Magic fan since the day Shaq was Drafted. And for you to actually call this the worse loss in franchise history is hilarious. I'll just say this because ur obviously too ypung to have seen this game live when Nick Anderson choked at the free throw line. And if u wanna go the other route because Orlando was blown out last night. The 96 Bulls thrashing Orlando by 40 in GM1 of the ECF. This game vs the Raptors was meaningless in a meaningless season. The worst loss in franchise history is absolutely hilari

  6. I'd been preaching patience in the name of waiting for the team to be healthy, but this is beyond just another win or loss.

I can have patience but I have no time for this. What a pathetic, spineless, disgusting performance and approach.

Send Mose home and every player not named Bane down to the G league. Let Osceola handle the remaining NBA fixtures.

I don't want to look at these dudes for the rest of the year.

  7. It's insane that this occurred to a team that has talent and for some unknown reason can't get it together consistently. The Orlando Magic is bound for the play-in and hopefully it will motivate them to fight harder to get into the playoff round, when the play-in starts in a few weeks.

  8. I keep saying Jeff Weltman needs to go!! I have not been watching any game this season because of the lack of inconsistency and players on the team that can score. It’s the same thing every season and Weltman does not draft for offense and does the bare minimum to add depth to the team. He has had almost 10 years and now its time to go!!

  9. Raps fan here, that was brutal to watch live the local media expected a dogfight, playoff like atmosphere and Orlando came in town like they didnt get that memo.
