  3. Just read this in the espn app. This season is gonna be entertaining to say the least. The first time we get another fail Mary the NFL is just gonna acquiesce or did they not learn from 2012.

  4. The refs are making a big mistake if this lets NFL adopt a bunch of automation.

  5. This is the right move on the NFL’s part baseball and basketball has shown the public doesn’t mind spending a little time to get things right. Make the big stuff reviewable but also crucially need to limit some on like PI. Everything’s PI in slowmo

  6. The technological advances in replay tech along with the fact the league and put in place new rules allowing the replacement refs to lean more on replay assistance is seriously going to kill any bargaining power the ref union has.

    Last time the refs were able to hold out and let the replacement refs make a fool of themselves for three weeks until the backlash was too great to ignore for the NFL.

    Now the NFL is making preemptive steps to make sure that doesn’t happen and the ref union is going to have to fold on this one.

    There is a month left of negotiations but don’t be surprised if you see the ref union soften its stance a deal get done before the deadline.
