Ben Johnson reaches out to Decker
Taylor Decker:
“It’s been radio silence. It’s uncomfortable. It’s awkward,” Rogers wrote. “It feels like a high school breakup, where you can’t make eye contact when passing each other in the hall.”
“Here’s what’s driving Decker crazy. This does feel a little personal,” Rogers wrote. “Since talking to (Lions head coach Dan Campbell) on Feb. 23, he hasn’t heard from team leadership. There wasn’t a follow-up from his coach, (general manager Brad Holmes) never reached out, and Decker had to make first contact with position coach Hank Fraley, a man he publicly went to bat for when Campbell was hired.
The Chicago Bears reached out to Taylor Decker and a potential team for the former Lions LT to go to.
The Lions will not play the Green Bay Packers or the Minnesota Vikings’ home games in Germany

That's funny, when you break up with your significant other most people don't want the EX to make any kind of contact with them. Hilarious, you mad because they are acting kind of relieved that they don't have to worry about you. Hmm!
They didnt block the Bears because well play the Lions on Thanksgiving
Blocking as many division rival home games as possible on a neutral field is the right thing to do. You’re competing with these teams for a structured playoff spot and those teams would still get a home advantage against you at some point in the season. Frankly I don’t think any division rival matchups should be played overseas for this reason. It’s also effectively a service to the hometown fans (who are sacrificing an accessible game) to enable these overseas games to get those matchups.
If you’re gonna require a neutral field game then it should be a relatively neutral matchup.
All the Lions were doing was giving Decker his space while he contemplated retirement.
Yes on sweat
Holmes won't take on the Sweat contract. If h's not in the black metal basket near the checkpoint lane, he's won't buy it.
Deck wanted to use asking for a release as a negotiation tactic. He wasn’t expecting Brad and staff to call him on his bluff. Respect to staff on that.
Decker was paid for his services and the organization took care of him while he was here nobody owe him anything! He got special treatment during his injury last 2yrs and he wants more money with decreasing production! Why will the organization cater to him during this time and it's free agency, draft season and many more important things going on right now besides attention to Decker! You'll get your tribute later brother thank you for your service GOOD LUCK
t
Raymond is a traitor too
As far as Decker goes his agent was told he we want him back but at a pay cut Decker didn't want the offer to bad so sad im not angry whatsoever with the lions decision
Decker is an overated traitor
At least Kalif Raymond had enough sense to have another job before leaving the Lions.. unlike Decker..
I like Josh Sweat and the idea of him playing here but its not a possibility given what they are doing with Gibbs, Branch, etc.
Maybe he should've thought about announcing his return on social media before actually agreeing with the team. Seems like he tried to put them between a rock and a hard place to give him his full contract, even though he wasn't gonna play full-time, and he's mad that his pressure techniques didn't work.
I agree with you! If you asked for your release, why would I want to reach out to you. Perhaps only to check in on his health but not for a spot back on the team
T trade for him sweat. But Holmes won't do it because he is a looser and very stupid.
T
Taylor Decker is now making it personal however he is an aging LT. Regardless of position NFL players are released due the teams economic restraints.
So goes the saying, "it's nothing personal, it's business"
Trade for Sweat, the future is now, everyone in 2026 draft are projects..
We need a strong center again so goff can cook.
Trade, I have to see what they Arizona wants in exchange for Josh Sweat
No offense but didn't decker ask for personal time to decide if he wanted to keep playing or not lol
T please 🙏
I really liked Taylor. He was thinking about retirement and realized he was leaving a bunch of money on the table and came back only to not take a pay cut which forces his team to cut him so he still gets half his money AND the opportunity to go to any team since he thinks he’s still worth $20 million only to get no offers and now maybe wants to come back to the team even though he’s still injured 🤕 ….DOES HE THINK HES AARON RODGERS OR SOMETHINV TO BE ABLE TO FLIRT WITH RETIREMENT TO HOLD UP A TEAMS PLAN TO MOVE ON FROM HIM ONLY TO LAST MINUTE SAY “NO WAIT….IM GONNA PLAY”!!! Angels sing in the background and he has a dismal year which he then blames on the franchise. Taylor I love you but please just go fishing or golfing with Ragnow and I still want to see both of you come back to Ford Field for some fan appreciation days! Still love ya but please just shut up now. Go fishing. Buy a new home. Start stamp collecting. Start walking around indoors at your local mall. Maybe even open up a restaurant or adopt a cat. DONT GO AWAY ANGRY….just go away…
When rookies outperform their contracts and ask for more money there are a problem but when older players are perceived to not be living up to their contracts they get caught released traded. When everything's going great everybody's about team and culture and we're one big happy family but when it's going to cost them a few bucks it gets cutthroat. Detroit is no different than any other franchise despite all the gas lighting how about team and family and culture it's a business and eventually somebody's getting screwed. It's not that dissimilar to Frank ragnow they used him up he gave everything just like Decker then your family showed you the door.
The people you work for and with are not your family!
Why is everyone being salty when the lions organization has decided that this is the year they’re gonna replace Taylor Decker at left tackle. That’s the decision that they have made and it’s a good decision. He was getting washed up. When they loan the fact that he doesn’t even practice. In order to be a leader on the team to have the younger guys follow you and you kinda have to be there practicing with them.
If taylor plays he is a back up player that can give you 5-6 games. His shoulder is very damaged. He made a lot of money move on.
They’re not trading for sweat.
AGAIN
They’re paying 6M for Wonnum. They’re not going to triple the number for Sweat to rush the passer situationally.
I’ve said this so many times on this channel.
I’ve been right every time.
They aren’t prioritizing a pass rusher at DE2.
They won’t pay a guy 18M for that. This has been going on 3 years now. It’s like fans don’t understand the defense. If you want more pass rushers, you need to dump Hutchinson. He is a terrific 43 DE. But he is a pocket crasher and you need a different back 7 to compensate.
That includes the other DE setting an edge. You don’t pay 18M for that.
