1. The series was a mixed bag. A lot of negatives (particularly in the last 2 games), but also some positives in all 4 games.

   Even though Moncada had 2 errors, he made a lot of good plays defensively in the first 2 games.

   Lowe had a nice catch in LF, something that we have never seen out of Ward.

   Detmers seemed to have been in better control of his emotions.

   Angels pitching has given up only 1 HR in 4 games so far.

   Even though Pomeranz struggled in 2 innings, Romano has been better than expected in 2 innings.

   So far, the Angels lead the league in HRs (9), but UNLIKE 2025, they are second in RBIs (22) AND third in hits (33).

   And although they are once again near the top of the league in strikeouts (46), they actually lead the league in walks (22).

   These are all improvements over last year.

   The question is, can they reduce the strikeouts, mental errors and defensive miscues for an entire season??

3. Angels were the worst defensive team last year and their bullpen was horrendous. I don't know if it will be much better this year. If they're going to win games, it will have to be from their offense and their starters. The offense is great, and their starting pitching is better than they get credit for.

4. I said this last year DETMERS SHOULD BE THE CLOSER, could be an all star as a closer, not just an average or below average starting pitcher

8. I feel like the starters all did their job by keeping the Angels in the game. The offense was enough to win but the errors and who they bring in and how long they leave him in. Overall it's a positive start compared to previous seasons and there's room for improvement instead of this is the best we have. It was a winnable series and they were a bit out coached.

9. They're better. It's evident in the hitting. With Maddux, the pitching will get sorted out.

10. And how long has it been since fans are upset about a four game split in Houston and mad about not winning it?

11. The last two Angel batters stood there and took called 3rd strikes. We are taught from little league to protect the plate when you have two strikes. Way too many Ks. See little aggression on the basepaths and the defensive woes are bothersome. Pitching still a huge ?

12. I don't need Ryan being like Lackey and go 8 IP with only 2 hits (but I won't complain if he did 😉 ), all I ask for is a clean outing, since our last 3 guys were pulled in the 5th with runners on. If he goes 5 IP with 2 earned runs and a reliever takes over in the 6th I'm fine with it.

13. I will say their patience at the plate really surprised me.

    It sucks I can only follow the games through the app / radio, not live right now, but it did make me notice something on Saturday's game..

    I think it was something like 3 swings total by the Angels players, against 25 pitches thrown by Imai.

    People are saying the team is solidly a 5th place team (paraphrase Steve from MLBTR), but if they can knock off all the idiotic errors and Suzuki learns how to manage a bullpen properly, I think they may be closer to 3rd place.

14. You guys were spot on. You know who Logan reminds me of, Rub Backer from the movie Major League 2 lol. He’s just so bad defensively.

16. Its a long season guys , there will be many ups and downs, as long as we are competitive we're good.

17. Angels lost – too many mistakes still, along with too many strikeouts. Middle relief still sucks, ABS is great it should be for all calls, the umps just aren't really good and this shows it even more than ever. Hopefully we get a series win against the Cubs before we go home.

18. I’m happy with the series split in Houston. Why? Because I have zero expectations.

20. Guys I can't help myself. I'm counting how many blown 😳 saves this team is going to give up. By my calculations it is 2 and counting. Hitting not the problem, starting pitching not the problem,so far. So mark my words they need to be able to figure out who can go short relief or who can go long relief.
