Gutekunst said today that the Packers have discussed the idea of bringing in veteran QB Kirk Cousins to be Jordan Loves backup after losing Malik Willis in free agency.

“Yeah, we’ve discussed a lot of those options,” Gutekunst said when asked about Cousins… “Obviously that’s a guy who’s got a lot of pelts on the wall in this league, so we’ve certainly discussed all those kind of things.”

Jordan Love, Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord are the three quarterbacks currently on the roster.

  1. I think it’s true they have probably discussed a lot of options…probably even discussed possible draft picks too

  2. Whoever we get is going to fill in for love one game (after we’ve clinched the one seed). And throw for 14/18 195 yards and 3 tds and morons are gonna speculate that they are better than love and should start for us

  3. That was a very politician answer. I’m not even sure they have discussed Kirk _specifically_ or just the idea of an older QB _like_ Kirk.

  4. Yay!! A bunch of gm/coach speak. Thats all we got today from both him and Lafluer

  5. Translation: no we haven’t talked about it but I don’t know how else to respond to such a ridiculously stupid question so I’m trying to be nice.

  6. A lot of pelts on the wall? What does that even mean? He has a lot of money in the bank but he’s only ever won a single playoff game.

  7. Yeah they’ve discussed it, and he’s still a FA. I think we need to be realistic about the fact that Ridder is the next backup reclamation project.

  8. I don’t want Kirk Cousins, all due respect to him. I want the next Malik Willis, praise be his Name.

  9. He said basically nothing in this lol

No matter who they asked about he would have said its a possibility lol
