  1. The Aquilini’s have no class at all. No clue how to run any organization and it shows. How stupid do they think us fans are. We’ve seen crap before. But never this bad. What free agent would want to play for a dysfunctional franchise like this? What garbage. And I’ve been a fan since the 1970s.

  2. It's funny that no member of the Canucks organization ever appear on Donnie and Dhali and after Myers and Garland got traded, they jump on the show. It's like the Canucks want to bankrupt all the media companies. Sounds like a playbook out of the CCP.

  3. This is total BS. What are the Aquilinis afraid of? Trevor Beggs is a reporter just doing his job relating public knowledge about the Aquilinis. The story by The Province’s Patrick Johnston that Beggs mentions is titled, “Aquilinis distance themselves from labour contractor under U.S. federal indictment.” It’s about Aquilini Vineyards, a Washington State vineyard founded by the family that owns the Canucks, which is attempting to distance itself from Harvest Plus, a local firm facing an indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Washington over accusations that it forged information on visa applications for Mexican laborers brought to the United States. According to the indictment, several Harvest Plus workers were at Aquilini Vineyards in 2022.

  4. The bottom line in this whole story: The Aquilinis do NOT deserve to own an NHL team. They are NOT hockey people. They are exclusively business people. They only care about dollars and cents. I wish they'd just sell the team to a new owner who really does care about NHL hockey.

  5. Rick, the toxicity always comes from the media, you guys are always the first to shit on anyone. I remember all the stories and jabs about Shane O'Brien at the bars, Kassian with the drugs, Cloutiers DUI, Hodgeson injury… you guys over analyze and speculate every story even when the team was winning.

And I can think of a few reporters who have got smacked around for crossing a line of another individuals temperament

  6. Mark Carney; I support the free press too! I do interviews with friends for 45 minutes on shows that are supported by tax dollars. 😮😂😅😊

  7. It is common knowledge the Aquilini family doesn't tolerate being embarrassed. Especially Francesco Aquilini who has a quick temper. Never get on his bad side!

Trevor Beggs ought to have known this and behaved accordingly. He embarrassed the Aquilini family. He is fortunate the consequences were not much more severe.

  8. 100%. We have the Streisand effect here. And they must be smart enough to know this and still, chose to go ahead to satiate their anger and spite the reporter to teach him and any other reporter brave enough to be honest and do his job. It's in other sectors too. Reporters are not appreciated by those with money, because we all get to see the greed up close exposed. Money and power is abusive and sometime bold enough not to care how bad it makes them look. The team ownership continues to disappoint and be hated by fans. This is NOT how to run a business.

  9. There's also how they made him leave, removing him that way, it was meant to humiliate him. They could have simply called him up and informed him. That shows the vindictiveness of the team.

  10. People were escorted out for holding up signs in support of Don Cherry, nobody spoke up then. Liberal tears. The Vancouver media IS the reason Miller, Tocchet, and Hughes left. They all cited "the noise" and that can mean either two things: the fans or the media, only one has distribution and amplification of message. And Im not saying fanatics aren't nuts but the media in the Canadian fishbowl are hyperbolic and Vancouver is the worst. Unfortunate its Beggs and not Fake News Farhan Lalji or Jeff Paterson.

  11. Canucks a crapping the bed big time between this, and telling season ticket holders prices are going up. It's a lot of arrogance from a team that's 17 points clear in last place. For the value of their on-ice product they should be dropping ticket costs down to nearly AHL levels…
…and apologizing to Trevor Beggs for their unsuitable behavior. I've been a loyal of this team going back to their last couple of years in the old WHL, and I'm finally losing patience to the point of switching team loyalty to someone other than them. I will reconsider if the Aquilinis sell the team, because the stench of this organization starts at the top…

  12. Rick has never worked up north. We all know your in a Vancouver bubble so how about some insight from someone that lives 4 hours away. April is still a cold month Rick. Yes! It can actually still snow in April, I've even seen snow during May long weekend. So stop whining every damn show and grow a pair

  13. Simple: the team on ice and organization and owners are awful. They are a joke. Period. Worst owners in BC. Terrible on ice product. Ridiculous expensive tickets and food/drinks. They hate the truth. They treat their true fans like crap. The ridiculous 'drama' regarding Petterson and Miller. The team owed it to their paying fans to tell the full truth. Everyone knows Miller is unlikeable, fans would have stuck up for Elias. Nope. Even the suck-up media like sportsnet. Disgusting

  14. both sides are wrong.
He ran a story that is still an ongoing legal battle without fact checking. Daily Hive is basically buzzfeed.
The team could've handled it better by not kneejerk reacting, thus causing streisand effect.

  15. The media can not be a partner for the canucks because no member of the media or the fan base wants or is willing to do anything positive.
That being said this treatment is ridiculous and Aqua needs to sell this team now.

  16. Hmmmm….sounds like Donald tRump. Paise him and you're wonderful, tell the truth and you're the most horrible person in the world and he tries to get you fired.

  17. I gotta say i disagree with Donnie on this one. You are held accountable for what you write. In an era on click bait titles and bs articles, responsibility and accuracy is a good thing to have. Its not bullying, relax.

  18. This is typical behavior from the Aquilini’s, anyone who has worked in construction in Vancouver since at least the 1980’s knows how the Aquilini’s do business.

  19. Donny and Dahli are absolutely pros. Handle everything with sincerity and fact. Will always support them! Appreciate them speaking up on this.
