  1. I think, alp, amen, kd, reed and to an extent bari and fred should stay, everyone else, retool with shooters and high bball IQ players/ball handlers. Maybe dangle bari/Fred and picks to see if you can land someone impactful??

  2. Sengun is most valuable player currently in Rockets, trading him not gonna rockets better, if he is the one who blame? Not sure…yes, I am Turk and Rockets have 90 million fan in Turkiye …He is one of the best center at nba currently, he is still so young, he needs better guy around him to succeed Huston…

  3. I started watching cause of Alpi but became also a rockets fan along the way. I'm still primarily Şengün fan though. I don't want to see Alp leave the team, and I definitely agree he went through quite a long slump.. He acknowledged it himself as well. It has been amazing seeing him perform at his best again lately. I hope he can continue the trend. Thanks for the episodes

  4. As I said in the previous podcast I did not say you were hating on Şengun I just thought talking about trading him when he was doing very well was weird. I like this show and love learning about Rockets and the logic behind trades from you. So thanks and hope you continue the show.

  5. Robert, the Bill Simmons red flags review on Giannis was spot on. You give up on yr 23 yr old "potential" superstar in the making (and at worst a top3/ top5 big man in this league for years to come) (whom you drafted and developed) and bring in Giannis next yr at age 32 (and with his history of multiple significant injuries over multiple seasons by now) on the last yr of his contract plus you top him up at max money for a 3 yr extension ( which you will have to do if you don't want to risk having traded away Sengun for nothing to show for it) and couple him with a 38 yr old KD – who we are seeing has already lost some of his clutch trickery due to declining physical prowess, Houston will be doomed for a long time. As a Turkish basketball fan, who has been paying special attention to the Rockets for the past 5 seasons and rooting for this team, this was my comment last time. It is great to see you come around Robert. In fact, this 2nd take / reconsideration you did is commendable but also refreshing in a social media climate where every other commentator seems to only double down on whatever first thoughts they voiced on any topic. And thank you for doing this thoughtful podcast, Robert.

  6. U could say what you want if there keeping KD . 1 if sengun don't show no sign of improvement he's gone 2. They will look at amen as there young guy for the future 3. If you can get Giannis without giving up amen, bari maybe and reed, there going to give up sengun to please there fan base do to the facts sengun got more bad with a 37 old getting double and still not better than him on offense and defense plus sengun consistency isn't good.

  7. Yes, Turkish fans started following the Rockets because of Alpi, but you have to distinguish between two types of fans: those who actually understand basketball and those who don’t. Just like in the US, it’s not a monolith, nothing is just black and white. While some Turkish fans can definitely be over the top, that’s not representative of everyone. We saw the exact same toxic energy from Jalen Green stans. It’s a 'stan' culture problem, not a nationality problem.

  8. Houston fan here longtime NBA watcher, Love your show Robert, shout out to Clay!!
I’ll keep it simple, ignore the noise, some fans are Senguin fans, not Rockets fans. I don't trust Sengun consistency, he is a rhythm player when his head is right, he cooks.

The real issue? No playmaker. You can’t run modern offense without a real floor general especially with a offensive center and expecting Sengun to initiate from the three-point line every possession is like asking your center to be Jokic without giving him Jokic-level spacing (we can’t shoot).

That’s on the front office and Udoka’s system. And Giannis trade talk? No thanks!! three straight first-round exits in the East isn’t exactly save the franchise energy. If you don’t believe in Sengun, fine trade him, but do it smart.

Don’t empty all your assets for a non-shooting Giannis experiment.
You already have KD at 38; in two years, that turns into a trash roster.

  9. you littlerally made a vid titled "Should Rockets Trade Sengun?" just 6 days ago and sht all over him. make up your damn mid. this is not journalism, this is just riding the wave.

  10. Robert, let's face it. It doesn't matter what your opinion is, people will disagree just to disagree. Team building isnt solely based on having the best players. Look at '98 Rockets. Dream, Barkley, Clyde and Pippen. Didn't work. It takes talented players who mesh well with good coaching. How good would this team look with a healthy Kyrie Irving or K Leonard? Why is Giannis the only name we keep hearing? We need shooters to surround Alpe and KD. Let's focus on that and getting an offensive coach.

  11. Fred was a big addition to Rockets, not because he is flushy but he is a role model to young stars. KD is not an absolute addition. Yes he adds a value at the finishing but he spoiled the character we got used to when watching rockets. For me Giannis will be a big addition to rockets not because he is an mvp but also can add motivation to the young core. If I am the coach, I will trade KD for Giannis.

  12. He is third most scoring centerPPG (20.4) after Jokic (27.9), and Wenbanyama (24.3) and second assist center APG (6.2) after Jokic (10.8)…and he is the only one to blame and trade him 😮

  13. I hope they do trade the Sengun he deserves a better teammate, teammate that don't talk sh!t behind. KD is a cancer and fucked the team's chemistry…
