INFLECTION POINT: Orlando Magic face PRESSURE as Jeff Weltman must reshape Orlando Magic’s FUTURE
The Orlando Magic are at a crossroads as they approach the end of their season. They are clearly moving on from their coach. But it will take more than a coaching change to right the ship and get the Magic back on track.
The pressure this summer is on Jeff Weltman to reshape the roster and be aggressive to improve the team. It is on him to turn this team from one that has focused mostly on rebuilding and focus more on players who can help the Magic win in the short term. Their window to win is now and this is a critical summer for the Magic to take the next step with their roster construction in addition to the potential for a new coach.
In the meantime, the Magic have to find a way to respond to their 52-point loss to the Toronto Raptors. How they approach their game against the Phoenix Suns will say a lot about them.

Weltman shouldn't get another summer. He should be out the door with the coaches
Look. It's a 4 year window… I don't mind if we don't get it figured out year one. It is a young team and there's room for growth.
But nothing I've seen this year has upset me like that Raptors game.
Even during our rebuild from Dwight to now, I haven't seen anything that disgusting.
If this were Europe, they'd be burning effigies outside the stadium.
I know this team can still do good things, but if you want to talk about growth, start there.
These dudes need to remember they represent something bigger than themselves.
100% PB looked out of shape this season.
for a win now team weltman has not really done anything on the deadline or with the coach we could of saved this season with a dif coach i would like to see tyron lue or Eric Spoelstra or malone even tho will never happen we need a championship coach to take us there i dont think prunty is enough prunty has been 1999 03 n 05 old school championships not this new era
i do think p5 franz suggs bane can win a chip just coaching and bench needs to be better even tho ab and moe have not been there or good
I would like to to move Suggs for a sign and trade for Coby white and a 1 rd draft pick. I also believe under the right coach Suggs won’t be as injury prone, like many guys on the team, they will not over extend themselves for lack of good coaching and scheme.
Keep Franz, Moe, Paolo, AB, bane, Tristan, I also like Jase and think he can be an effective guard.
THEY NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE!!!!!!!
19:52 I think that’s the perfect way to put it. This offense is freelance oriented which only works when exploiting mismatches, which the magic do not. It also does not work on every offensive possession. Teams will adjust, this is the NBA.
Weltman should be held accountable for believing that WCJ, Isaacs, and Goga are a proper set of big man defenders
Bro Toronto played over 20 games without Jak(who is the center). Also, we beat you without Ingram and Quickley in that 52 lose. When you guys beat us 120-130, we gave up the lead after leading for 3 quarters. Stop hyping up Magics. You guys aren't good and overachieved.
I blame the coaches over the Weltman and the front office. I feel like they have built a really talented roster and the coaches didn't do their part.
Defending 10 years of mediocrity, you need some basketball help because that’s wild.
This is the 3rd (maybe even 4th) consecutive season where injuries have derailed the season. Is this more of a reflection on a poor strength and conditioning coach, athletic trainer, or is this an offseason culture problem with players not doing what the organization is asking to stay in shape to be ready to play?
Devos group needs to sell, they’ll never bring a ring to the O
I don't think these injured guys will be back this season. Hoping I'm wrong. I believe that we will shop Suggs for a pg. Defense is not a strong point of this team.
Weltman will just hire another defensive minded coach! We need top office changes so we can get off this merry go round of player development teams for the league
They need to look at wellman.he put this team together.mostly needs to go.they need to take a long look at front office.
These needs:
-True Point Guards starting and bench.
-Coach with true offensive philosophy with defensive assistant coach.
-Offensive gifted players that are coachable for defense and built to run.
it is more a personnel problem that showed on sunday.
He didn’t draft James Bouknight. HUGE W For Welt
If we lose Paolo or Franz, we undoubtedly get valuable assets back. As long as we don’t wait for them to hit UFA
They demonstrated that they quit on this season already. If the last game wasn't proof then you're fooling yourself. You can't keep asking if they are quiting on the season when they have historically answered it this season. The question for the next Weltman will need to answer HOW and WHAT is your strategy to get the players we need. That was weltmans flaw. He doesn't know how to negotiate.
