I just need to take a second to appreciate what this man has accomplished since we traded Panarin. Laf has really stepped up in a massive way and I think this is the start of something beautiful now the he has a much larger spotlight. This stat sheet is a thing of beauty. I can't wait to see him soar next year, calling it now.

  1. 31 points (14G, 17A) in 32 games since 1/1/26. Nearly half a season.

Knock on wood, but I don’t think it’s a flash in the pan anymore.

  2. Nobody can say for sure what kind of a player he’ll be going forward, but this is also a pretty good advertisement for not giving up on talented players who haven’t yet turned 25.

  3. It’s great! I love seeing the talent reflected in the numbers. I still think he can be more of a force out there, especially if he decides to shoot more and improve his skating and speed! His biggest improvement has been defensively. He’s way more engaged and back checking a lot harder!!

  4. No pressure = better performance so it’s hard to judge him based on the last couple of weeks when it was clear that there was no chance that the Rangers were making the playoffs.

I think he’s a good teammate and a good person and I’m rooting for him to become a great player. But I also think judging him based on his performance of the last few weeks isn’t really indicative of his performance when it’s put up or shut up time.

Edit: I’ve been a fan for over 50 years so I’ve seen a lot. I am not an anti-Lafer but you get a little jaded after a while……

  5. Laf is also great on the power play. He’s become an elite net front presence, but he can pretty much play anywhere.

  6. idk if he gets there but would be very happy if he crossed 60 points this season

the LPZ line has been very good together, probably want to keep them on the same line next year

  7. My favorite stat of his is percentage of 1 on 1 puck battles won. Last I saw he was among the league leaders.

Not 100% sure how that’s calculated but assuming it’s a legit stat and reliably recorded…that’s the kind of thing that wins playoff games. Florida won those cups with a team full of guys that seemed to always win puck battles.

  8. I hope I’m wrong but, having ZERO pressure has to have something to do w this

  9. To be fair he’s done this before.

He was arguably the Ranger’s best player in the playoffs in 2024

    he regressed horribly after that

and now reared his head again this spring

i hope its a sign of things to come next year

but like i said this isnt even the best hockey hes played for the rangers

  10. That W/L streak is crazy…..4 straight wins followed directly by 6 straight losses. It can be pure comedy how up and down this team can get. He’s played better, and i been holding out hope against hope. Keep it up.

  11. Being from Quebec, Canada and seeing this guy on my favorite team is a blessing! He’s no McDavid or Matthews or MacKinnon when it comes to 1st overall pick but Laffy is getting better and better every week.

He needs to keep it rollin and improve his skating in the off-season. The guy has talent and lots of potential!!

  12. We need to stop taking victory laps for a guy producing in essentially pre season games. It’s encouraging and really good to see. Time for victory laps is when he does it when it matters.

  13. Giving up on young talent is what made teams like Florida absurd..I was honestly half expecting him to get traded this year and explode in production in the proper placement but no Drury kept his head on straight and now Laf looks amazing. So happy, never disliked this guy he’s always visible.

  14. I love that he’s stepping up. If he can keep this up in the new season I’m stoked, because he’s also one of the most available players in the league, having only missed four games in his career.
