Wins: Pit, NYR, NJ, CBJ, FLA, Philly
Losses: TB, Minny
OT Loss: Philly
That’s 99 points and certainly possible. But FFS start winning the games you have to win.
Let’s hope the Pens got all their goals out of their system last night.

happy Augustine Day we hope??
Is this a daily discussion thread or did a sad sack convention roll into town?

Nothing worries me more than Anthony Mantha playing in a contract year.
Going back to playing a more condensed schedule the rest of the week, hopefully that will do something to help us get on a roll.
So the Pens have the fifth-best GF/GP this month, but also the 2nd worst GA/GP. Seems like a good game to get some offensive mojo going.
I’m not superstitious, just a little stitious, so I feel safe saying the Pens won’t light up the net. Hoping we see the Dr. Jekyll version of the boys tonight.
Can NCAA players go to the AHL these days?
Took a dive into our U25 core, and prospects still coming in. We got a TON of them, with very little room left. Here is a tier list of them. I organized it by closeness to NHL ready.
**Tier 1:** Players currently in Detroit who are seen are core pieces, no risk of getting sent down and 100% part of the long-term future.
– **Raymond, Kasper, Finnie, Seider, Edvinsson, and Albert Johansson (3 forwards, 3 defenseman)**
**Tier 2:** Players who have split time between Detroit and Grand Rapids this season. Have the potential, and likely will be Detroit players full-time next season and likely part of the long-term future.
– **MBN, Danielson, Mazur, ASP, Cossa (3 forwards, 1 defenseman, 1 goalie)**
**Tier 3:** Players in the system (signed ELCs) that have shown NHL talent in their pro tenure. These players are no longer waiver exempt and now must clear waivers next season.
– **Lombardi**, Wallinder (**1 forward**, 1 defenseman) Of these 2, I believe Lombardi is the only one that will be offered an NHL/Two-Way contract, Wallinder could be the 4th LHD next year, but I don’t see Detroit wanting to carry 8D.
**Tier 4:** Drafted players (with or without an ELC), with or without pro experience, that have NHL potential and could see action in the next 1-2 seasons.
– **Bear, Plante, Genborg, Anton Johansson, Keenan, Augustine, Postava (3 forwards, 2 defensemen, 2 goalies)**
**Tier 5**: Drafted players that have are still waiver eligible that have an outside chance at a roster spot at some point in the next 2-3 years.
– Kiiskinen, Becher, James, Buium, Guimond (3 forwards, 1 defenseman, 1 goalie)
Overall, I highlighted in bold the players I think have the talent/pedigree to be a part of the long-term future of the team. It includes 9 forwards, 6 defenseman, and 3 goalies. Now this doesn’t include the existing contracts we have on the team next year excluding all players above (Forwards – 6, Defensemen – 3, Goalie – 1). Some changes will need to be made to fit this.
I just read the top 8 teams in the league since Jan 1st are all Eastern teams and 5 of them are in the Atlantic. I didn’t believe it, so I looked it up and it’s true. Ottawa Senators are 8th with a .642, Buffalo is 1st with a .743 with the other 6 teams in between. Dallas is 9th with a .632. I hate this conference and I hate this division.
You bet your ass I’m buying a couple six-packs of the Strawberries and Cream Oberon tomorrow
Watching Gudas get his shit kicked in multiple times was fun.
Finally had my root canal done and let me tell you, not bad at all. The pain before having it done was so much worse.
Let’s finish March with a good win and go on a heater in April here. We can do it fellas
Well. A position is opening in Seattle that I could take. Which means I wouldn’t be traveling 50% of the time.
Main thing I’d be worried about is moving from Colorado and 300 days of sun to maybe(if I’m lucky) 150 days of sun.
Any of the folks in here see pros and cons here?
wings pls

What frustrates me the most is just how winnable the last few losses were.
Last year’s team could squeak out two 7 game win streaks. I HAVE to believe this team can squeak one out here to finish the season
Spent the better part of my day trying to get my phone back from an Uber driver. Life is fun.

Me prepping my singular cup of whiskey for tonight’s game…
World Cup qualifiers today, + red wings must win game.
Ready to be sad regardless
Hey, what happened to that discussion-promoting and completely-posted-in-good-faith “we suck at everything” post?
I was really looking forward to engaging in well-natured conversation with fellow fans who wish the best for the team in the comments section.
Is Crosby back in the lineup or no news?
People complaining about the Faulk trade don’t realize how big that trade was for asp development and I think that’s worth a first I have a feeling Steve thought the same thing with qualifying him for playoffs
It’s supposed to storm again today. I fucking love storms!
Someone be happy for me please
i bought a new air fryer this morning. i had a coupon and my current one is almost 10 years old so i thought i’d go for it. nido had to inspect it, of course.

I guess I hadn’t been keeping track of the Wings record against teams on a b2b. Overall they’ve done well, just shitting the bed this month 😅
I was intrigued by Brad’s view on leadership on this team on the latest WWP.
To summarize: Whenever there’s an olympic or world tournament, every American player can’t say enough good things about Larkin’s leadership. But when it comes to Detroit, no one says anything like that. The message from Larkin has to be the same, but some people in the room apparently arent getting it. There apparently aren’t enough real players on this team for the message to be effective
Thoughts?

LGRW!
Kaner with 12 points, 10 at even strength, over the last 10 games. 33 shots, 8 hits, and a +4 over that span. Dude is leaving it all out there on the ice.

Daily discussion cat. Ezri and I are hoping for a win tonight!
We should bring in Bruce to deliver this one again i think its very relevant

I predict a win tonight because they got chewed out, but then they’ll get killed the next game because being chewed out doesn’t last.
RE the discussion about Larkin’s leadership compared to previous Detroit captains. Let’s not pretend Yzerman, Lidstrom and Zetterberg were social butterflies in interviews or particularly loud on the bench. In fact you can probably argue based on mic’d up moments that Larkin is a more vocal leader than all 3 of them were
Larkin isn’t nearly as good a player as all 3 of them and is on far worst teams than they ever got to be on.
I think this boils down more to, we have a decent core of top players but that’s like 20% of the lineup. And those core players aren’t superstar caliber besides Seider (maybe Raymond)and it’s not like Mo is an offensive dynamo
We aren’t good enough
