Hornets are the 8th team since 1950 to have multiple first-year players (Kon Knueppel and Ryan Kalkbrenner) have 5+ Win Shares in a season

  1. Kalk’s FG% is doing some heavy lifting here lol

Still, what a great rookie class. I would’ve supported trading down in this class to add 3 contributors to our terrible shallow rotation from the last few years. Instead we just drafted an immediate star and two immediate rotation players with #4, #33, and #34.

It can’t really be overstated how important it is to play an actual 8th/9th man caliber player over the bums we had off the bench last year (almost all of whom are already out of the league), and it’s rare that comes from a pair of 2nd round rookies.

  2. glad this team is finally valuing production over potential. it’s all over this draft class.

  3. I think it’s even more noteworthy to say we’re the first team since 97-98 to do it. This is super cool
