How the Bruins FLEECED the NHL to Stay in Contention

The Bruins have quietly built a playoff-caliber roster by winning big on trades, consistently turning low-cost moves into key contributors. Guys like Viktor Arvidsson, Casey Mittelstadt, and Pavel Zacha have all outperformed expectations, while Boston also shed some questionable contracts at the right time. Outside of a possible overpay for Elias Lindholm, the front office has basically nailed every move.

  1. Elias Lindholm is a brutal contract for a 3C. Korpi not great either.

Brazeau and Wotherspoon had, what, 5 assists last night for the Pens?

  2. We got nothing for Linus, and went on and gave Elias a bag and he stinks. We have one really good forward and we are right up against the cap…

  3. For all the criticism that Sweeney gets, he deserves credit for all this. It’s obvious the astronomical mistakes he has made over the years, but he’s also made some great moves and great trades.

  4. Who is questioning fightings place in hockey? "People"? Do they mean "women"? We need to be less inclusive as a society, it's gotten easy out of hand where men can't even have their own sports without criticism

  5. Jeanot’s contract. Esimont. Resigning Steeves as he’s rightfully being benched. Four 6 7 defenders. And 2 third liners playing with Pasta because they show spunk.

  6. This is hilarious they fleeced nothing if wasnt for collapse if Florida an Toronto we would be fighting for 1st pick in draft. They fleeced nothing other than Minten an the Toronto pick ah thats because Toronto was desperate an called bruins at 3pm deadline haha the ignorance of Boston sports media is pathetic . treliving saved Sweeney job this wasnt a Sweeney master class haha

  7. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong – I was absolutely calling for Sweeney to be canned last offseason. I thought this was a basement dwelling team and we were tanking for McKenna.

While I still don't agree with some signings (the length of Jeannot's contract especially) he has definitely done a great job with the rebuild so far.
