HIGHLIGHTS: Miguel Vargas Hits A GRAND SLAM To Boost Sox Over Marlins (2026) | MLB

Miguel Vargas got the Sox offense going int he top of the 3rd inning with an RBI single to score Everson Pereira. Later, Austin Hays launched his first homer of the season; a 3-run home run to right field.

In the top of the 4th inning, Miguel Vargas launched a GRAND SLAM 403 feet to right field. The second grand slam in as many games for the Sox.

Luisangel Acuña scored on a sacrifice fly by Vargas.

Miguel Vargas went 2-for-4 with 6 RBI.

Davis Martin made his first start of 2026, going 5.0 innings with 6 strikeouts. Sean Newcomb pitched in relief, throwing 2.2 innings and 5 strikeouts, and Jordan Hicks closed out the game, throwing 1.1 innings and 1 strikeout.

The White Sox defeat the Miami Marlins, 9-4, on March 30, 2026 at loanDepot Park in Miami, Florida.

  1. Why are the Marlins still in Miami? Their attendance is even worse than the Sox. Neither Florida team has ever had a following. Their broadcast rights have got to be zilch.

    It's a good win. But I would like to see the Sox score more runs in ways other than the home run. Homers are nice, but you have to have other ways to score on days when you can't get pitches to drive out of the park. That's something the Sox will have to work on this year in preparation for 2027.
