    Then clean house. Get a coach that is actually good with X’s and O’s. Flagg and the 2026 lotto pick would thrive. Just look at Jordan Ott in Phoenix.

    Taylor Jenkins would be a great fit. Local guy and was scapegoated in Memphis.

  13. Not a Mavs fan so maybe I don’t know all the details, but wasn’t it clear Kidd was involved? I’m confused on people being shocked by this lol. Or is just that it finally got confirmed?

    Side note, Cuban literally created all this mess bc of who he sold the team to and he hired all of these guys. Not a fan of how he keeps publicly talking about it like he is an innocent bystander.

    He seems to just be trying his hardest to publicly seperate himself from it, but really all of the issues within the mavericks right now start with his decisions on who he sold the team to and who he decided to hire.

  19. This does come off as sour grapes from Cuban. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too. Surprise, people don’t want you driving the car they just bought from you. 

    I agree with the sentiment that Kidd certainly isn’t a great coach, and definitely isn’t GM material (I kept hearing rumblings of him maybe vying for that position).

    Although, Kidd probably knew about this. I’m sure it was a, “should I openly disagree with my ego maniac of a boss and risk my job?” He was in a tough spot, and he made a bad choice. Unfortunately, that’s a choice you can’t come back from. It’s just too stupid. 

  20. Reminder that Mark is the problem. Even before Nico, he hired haralolbob who Luka despised as a backseat suit who didn’t believe in the team and the advanced stats team for the Mavs was headed by Jeremias Engleman who believed Luka was the most overrated player in the league and Mark should sell high on him and tweeted among other insane shit that Franz Wagner was better than him in 2024, Luka is the top 2% in empty calorie stats in the middle of his insane 23/24 run and Luka has single-handedly ruined the value of various factors in advanced stats because he is great at them while not facilitating on court success.

    The ‘solution’ he found while working for the Mavs to this is making advanced stats now is to find ones that Luka is bad in as a test for how reliable they are. He claims to have made several such proprietary models while working for the Mavs among several other bangers.

    This is the type of statistical work that Cuban was paying people on the Mavs staff to do while Luka was having 1st team All-NBA season after another and carrying the team. The well was poisoned between Luka and the Mavs office well before Nico.

    Imagine someone on the Warriors staff getting paid to specifically create advanced metrics models which made Steph look bad because the current ones said he was amazing but the 170 IQ stat genius had a hunch that they were not reliable.

  32. lmao cuban putting the scope on jkidd after all these months. it was pretty obvious kidd had some level of responsibility in the trade, but with more concrete evidence it’s grounds for sending him packing. he was a good coach for a point guard led team, especially star guards who don’t respond to scheme and hard coaching. pretty clear that coop isn’t wired that way. get someone like rick back in there please. i’m so tired of the bullshit ato plays that i’d be happy with a change off that alone. he has a great relationship with ky, but since ky is at the age he’s at idk if it makes since to continue with kidd. better to find the best coach to aid in coopers development. could be the same situation as him and giannis, helps the big boi develop his handle and some playmaking then gets sent packing.

    on a personal level i do like kidd and think he’s done a solid job here. it’s just that the luka trade was so fucked up that everyone who had a part in it needs to go. sell the team. start over.

    and cuban is culpable more than anyone. he sold the team to ppl who don’t care about the city, don’t care about the product outside of the arena. took me a long time to care again after he dismantled the 2011 squad bc he was focused on shark tank. rip to what we had lol

  34. I’m going to get roasted for this. If I sell my house and some crackheads move in and it ruins the experience for the neighbors, is that my fault for selling the house? Really? I know Cuban had a lot more involvement than my comparison, but to say he is equally, or even more at fault than the actual devil reincarnate in Miriam adelson is just something I can’t get behind. He set up the pieces, can’t agree that he pushed them over.
