Doc Rivers Expected to be Inducted in Basketball Hall of Fame

He’s coached for a million years, won a title, and had 2 other good runs.

I wouldn’t vote him in.
Guy really must have something on the NBA as a whole to be treated like he is.
He had one great Celtics team he won a ring with and was known as a choker after that for years.
Does Giannis get a vote? lol.
To be fair he brought the Celtics back in the finals in 2010 with an old roster and back in the ECF in 2012.
He did this while having Brandon Bass as the starting PF and occasionally Greg Steimsma at center.
But the nfl didn’t let bill in.

Give 90% of coaches in history the job security and number of games as Doc and they have just as many wins and championships (or more). His biggest pro as a coach is being likable to front offices and keeping jobs he doesn’t deserve. I believe this to the absolute core of my fandom and I’m confident 75%+ of fans think the same.

What an absolute joke, might as well just put every coach in the league. Dude left the Celtics because he didn’t wanna go through a rebuild and they’ve made it to 6 conference Finals before he’s made 1. And if he’s got a 3-1 series lead, he’s losing in 7
It’s kinda crazy that the fan base where he had the most success and won his only championship, the group you would most expect to back him for an accolade like the Hall of Fame, seems flabbergasted by this.

Doc, who I love and is endlessly wonderful, might be the least qualified coach in the hall of fame. Belichick might have been the most qualified coach and missed out just weeks ago. That is crazy.
I honestly don’t think this is THAT egregious. He’s been coaching for over 20 years, has the fifth most games coached of all time, seventh in wins. They voted him a Top 15 coach of all time, he wasn’t gonna not make the Hall of Fame.
Does this include his time as a player or just coach?
