The Detroit Red Wings are dead and so am I.
This hurts

I am far too young to have experienced the dead things era, so I’m glad they brought it back so us youngins wouldn’t miss out
Seider has had a rough couple of games.
They have no motivation to make the playoffs. Why?!? A lot of these guys are all single year contracts too, right? So play hard to stay, unless they want out of Detroit?
Larkin will soon have had 3 opportunities to carry his team into the playoffs as captain. And all 3 times the team has wilted.
The opportunity was always there. This has to fall on the players too.
This isn’t the most important one …..yet 😐😐😐😐
There are no unimportant games. Win 5 more before the break and see where that puts us today.
Bunch of Marys
Faulk for a first rounder huh 😭
Just saying this. Larkin’s and Debrincat’s trade value will never be higher than it will be this offseason.
We need size
It’s kinda like when an old person shits themselves in the supermarket. Fucking sad.
Most important game of the year *so far*
I was there tonight, completely lifeless from start to finish. It’s really bad that they can’t seem to get motivated for the tough games.
That Justin Faulk trade paying dividends. Yzerman loves to pick up guys with horrible underlying #’s. It’s a running gag with the stat nerds at this point.
My men’s league team won 5-2 tonight and I’m pretty sure we could give the Wings a run for their money right now.
Well, this team fell apart quick.
Suddenly, Hamonic isn’t looking so bad.
Well the good thing is that we’re still just a win away from a playoff spot, but the reality is and has been most of the season that we have no consistent 5v5 offense. Absolutely not built for playoff hockey. Unless Gibson stands on his head we’ll likely get throttled in the first round by whoever the one seed is. You can just tell this forward group doesn’t have high end skill beyond Raymond and Cat (and sometimes Kaner when he actually decides to move his feet or is on the power play). They play so scared exiting the D zone and gaining the O zone. Kasper, Finnie, and most of our young guys might have good engines but they just don’t seem to be able to make skilled plays to start the rush or create scoring chances besides crashing the net. Most of the veterans are that as well but with less speed. Watching other top teams there’s such a difference in how they play in all zones, how they move the puck or make defenders miss. Not chip and chase hockey all night. I really hope some of the other forward prospects hit because I really don’t like the long term outlook of this team offensively.
Hronek and Bertuzzi sure sound goood about now . Months 30? Soderblom all over the ice yesterday? Odd
perron looks as fluid as the tin man out there, i love grittiness and vocal leadership but more so when it’s not 1-2 seconds late on every play every shift
