4. Same lackadaisical team we have had since 2017 ( with the exception of the first half of 2025)
   Ricketts needs to figure this out. Maybe the team is aware that the broadcasting does not reach the fanbase, so why waste energy winning and playing hard?

21. it’s time to fire manager that council needs to go. I don’t care if it’s the season just started. He is the most overrated manager that’s ever managed. They should’ve never gotten rid of David Ross. Great council gets out managed every time he manages in game. He got out, managed even in the first series with the nationals.

22. LOB not pitching is the issue. You only give up 2 runs, a good team should win. Opening day 26 LOB. Cubs don't have clutch hitters .

You don't generate offense with a leadfooted leadoff hitter and I'm only saying that of Busch in a comparative sense to PCA!…who can make many a player look leadfooted! He's misplayed several balls and drug his 220 some average bat from last year as well out there as well! Every day with Shaw is 0 for 3 0 for 4 with a hit sprinkled in here and there like last year! Conforto appears to be washed up! Are you frickin kidding me! These two are the best outfielders we have to put out there? One is a backup utility infielder! 😮 I'm so sorry I defended Counsell last year! You guys and the Brewers fans were ✅️ right! Counsell is a Bonehead! 😮

34. I thought they should have intentionally walked Logan O’Hoppe to load up the bases in the 6th to deal with the 9 hole hitter to get out of the inning because O’Hoppe is one of the better hitting catchers in the Majors and I was thinking that as Logan was coming up to bat in the 6th.

35. Well… its a marathon, not a sprint. But once again, the offense is slow out of the gate. I am starting to think its a mental thing with the cold, and the wind always blowing in. Its demoralizing to keep having multiple 100 plus exit velo die 20 feet in front of the fence, and they havent been good at manufacturing runs during this time. BUT, when the weather heats up, so will the offense. My larger concern is the bullpen. Gotta get there with the lead first. GO CUBS!!

Taillon was hugging Horton after the 5th and I’m pretty sure Horton was telling him, “Bro, lucky you didn’t get the L tonight.” He was that close and Counsell knew it, too, removing him with the bases loaded. Also, I heard the Marquee announcers proclaiming PCA “a great bunter,” now. KAP, he didn’t even know how to bunt last season laying down just three successful bunt, and now he’s an elite bunter?!? My question is why is he bunting at all? Especially, leading off the 9th? He struck out on the foul bunt. Is he deciding to bunt on his own? Or is this Counsell playing six-dimensional chess again? Finally, has anyone besides me and every other MLB team realized that Amaya cannot throw anyone out and will give up a minimum of two SB every time he’s behind the plate? Don’t believe me? Start keeping track as of last night. This will translate into funs very shortly. Painful to watch this weak offense. Cubs tied for last.
