  1. did anyone else pass on MLB.tv for free from T-Mobile? I feel vindicated so far.

  2. I didnt realize it was a day game, checked the score and was immediately grateful i didn’t watch a second of this

  3. * Smith gave up 8 runs (7 earned) in 3.0 IP.
    * The Sox offense was woeful: 3 singles and a HBP. All with 2 outs, none reached 2nd.
    * The Sox drop to 1-5.
    * The home opener was postponed to Friday due to the weather forecast tomorrow.

  4. It kinda sucks for like 15 years the white Sox and bulls are basically useless teams. Takes a lot of possible fun away for Chicago sports fans

  5. Economy is kind of rough right now. Saving on going to a game is good for me.

    Silver linings, people.

  6. Made a bet with a co-worker about the White Sox record at the end of the season, just a fun thing. If he won, I would take him to Portillo’s for lunch.

We’re going to Portillo’s this weekend.

  7. can’t wait to hear Sox machine’s take on this series.

This is without a doubt the worst pitching staff in the entire league, and an even worse outfield / defense.

Abysmal, literally making me hate baseball.

  8. Idk how to say this in a nicer way, but we are going to get penetrated raw next series against Toronto. Buckle up everyone.

  9. We’re currently giving up more then 1 run per inning… That is unacceptable. Literally over 8.5 ERA across the pitching staff.

Idk what else to say. You get what you pay for. Fuck you Jerry.

  10. There isn’t one pitcher on the staff that I’m confident could get 3 outs without giving up a run right now. Anthony Kay looked fine, and Burke had a couple solid innings. That’s the best we have right now. The bullpen is a bunch of nobodies. Changes have to be made quickly. You can’t give up 8.5 runs a game and expect any positive development to happen anywhere on the field. I’m the furthest from a doomer, I’m usually quite optimistic, but this is insane.

  11. Congrats to Lucas Sims for being the only pitcher to not give up a run today! 🎉

  12. It’s funny how Getz kept preaching defense / athleticism / fundamentals as his focus when acquiring new talent.

Can anybody point out where any of those things are on this roster? All I see is bottom of the barrel players who couldn’t swing it on 28 other teams in the league who cannot field their positions.

It’s so fucking over and it’s literally just 6 games in. I’m so done with this every single year man. Usually takes a month or so for me to lose interest. 6 fucking games is one hell of an achievement!

  13. Optimistic take: Alcantara has been a good pitcher in the past and looks like he’s returning to form after injuries. So can’t be too disappointed in the offensive showing today given the reality of the talent on the roster currently.

That being said, we shouldn’t be giving up 10 runs to the Marlins. I’m really quite bummed about how Smith has fallen off starting in the second half of last season.

Before the season started, I was thinking that between full seasons out of our prospects that we called up last year, plus a few small upgrades via free agency, we might be able to flirt with 80 wins, with a more realistic prediction of 65-70 wins. I still think we’ll have a shot at avoiding 100 losses, but it’s gonna be a lot like last year where we play better in the second half once we call more guys up.
